Right, I know i'm only thirteen but I have my views on the elected president Mr Obama

Ok, so this dude, he seems pretty cool 'cos I was a-listening to his speech one day and he was very interesting and he kinda looked like confident but not mean about it. So he sounds alright.

      Bye
Just wanted to tell you all that

I'm going for curry as we have chilli on a thursday [it's his signature dish that he makes when I am at college; can't trounce him on that!]. Actually, no I'm not, I'm going to go for a Little Italy Pasta dish - mind made up!!!

And it takes no time at all to make. Job done!!!

Great! We Americans claim all Italian and Chinese food too, so you can just say it's inspired by the melting pot that is America, which the Obama victory symbolizes.

Well, now I've made myself hungry for chowder and apple pie so have sent OH to the store for missing ingredients.

              heh heh heh!!!

I'm going for spaghetti sauce, as per Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever.

It's one of the delights of New York City, the sheer amount of cultures in any one street. Just absolutely fabulous. God I wish I was there!

I've been humming the theme to West Wing all day. But maybe someone can help me. I had Radio 5 live on all night, and dozed off and on, but just before 6.00ish I think they played a montage of key speeches and sayings from both of them, with a very stirring, almost warlike backing track. Did anyone hear it and can anyone tell me what it was.

Hey Bridey - probably Independence Day

The BBC web site had a quote from an American comedian who said some weeks ago that the only time the US had a black president was when a meteor was heading for Washington. Great - something else to worry about

I'm waiting till the weekend - it should all have died down by then and it should be safe to watch the tv again . I'll probably not watch from Christmas till about a week after he gets sworn in. Nothing against the man and I know I'm stereotyping most Americans but I just can't stand this nonsence . How long has it been going on now ? What are all the American corespondants going to do for the next 3 years? Who want's to bet on some pretty strange news items over the next few months as they try to justify their jobs.
The Billions that were spent manipulating the American people to vote one way or the other could have been better spent in my opinion.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

I haven't owned a tv since some time in 2004. And I hardly ever watch the news. It's my OHs fault that I voted at all, really. I have to force myself to click on BBC news every day and am now starting to watch the iplayer so that I have something to talk about with others whose lives revolve around the telly.

*Back to studying my maths now. See you all after the next election*

Am really pleased he got in, but I also do wonder how long it will be before the first assassination attempt. He looks really young for a president, so good luck to him - hope he makes a difference.

I still can't get the picture out of my head, of my daughter dancing round her telly shouting "In your face, Sarah Palin!" One Scary woman!

PS Sarah Palin, not my daughter!

Love it, i was doing the same, however it seems the general consensus says La Palin has a taste for it now and may run for president next time

Yes, but SHE was the one who scared off McCain's possible voters. Surely after having a taste of common sense and decency the American public won't go back to the Dark Ages?

agreed Flum, she was the nail in coffin for McCain who by all accounts doesn't seem that bad, I thought his defeat speech was excellent. Still really pleased about Obama getting in and its great to see how happy lots of my American friends are

Reading a mini write up in the Telegraph on 'that Palin woman' - it appears she wanted to make her own personal speech conceding the election to be run immediatly before McCain's. Apparently the spoilsports behind the Republican campaign wouldn't let her.

Shame, really would have enjoyed that one, and I bet the word 'dignified' wouldn't have been used describing it, not even by the most rabid moose shooting hockey mom.
