  • Will I never learn?

Forgot all about making Hannah a costume for her Victorian day at school today until she reminded me at 7pm last night!

So after a busy day sweeping all the leaves off the paths at her school, pruning all their (7) budlieas (sp - sorry) and of course binning kids toys at home, I then went and overdid it, spending 4 hours making a mob cap and apron for her. I am pleased with how it looks but not the result - i.e. I feel really ill this morning (usualy in bed for 9pm but finaly got to bed at midnight) like very sick and dizzy. I feel like I have been up all night celebrating big O - would have been more fun!

Dont know if I have a bug or if its cos I was up late but I feel really rough. Wish I could just go to bed but dont know if I can find anyone to take care of Daniel so gonna just try and rest at least. Anyone any ideas?

Hope you all feeling well today.

    Tammy

At least she didn't tell you this morning! Mine would have.
Try for a lazy day and of course an early night (fat chance with fireworks eh?)

My niece will be round later with her three year old daughter like she is most day's funny how she doesnt go to her mums as often. I go to lots of places with her and meet her friends and their kids. Today its swimming and ballet, monday's its a play centre, all the kids call me aunty and all come to me for cuddles and I would willingly babysit any of them. One has a little boy aged one and he reminds me so much of one of my sons at that age.

See Tammy you are not the only one, Just had a phone call from daughters school saying I was supposed to give a written note for my 12 yr old daughter to walk home from school tomorrow after dance on her own ( she walks on her own everyday ) and to go back at 6pm when I will drive her and pick her up after. Verbal permission given. !!!

Ah, now, this brings back memories. My kids never told me until it was almost too late and, not being particularly handy with a needle, my rushed efforts were always pathetic when compared to the good mum's creations. I well remember one harvest festival - which naturally I didn't know about - sending them off with stuff I'd had to raid the garden for (complete with slugs) and my eldest with half a dozen eggs in a flower basket, hastily lined with strips of orange and yellow paper that we'd cut-up to look like 'straw'. Not only was I a bad mum, now I was a tight-fisted one too.

I felt rough yesterday, it felt sort of like a cross between the start of a cold and a hangover - but was neither - I feel a little better today, so if it's any consolation you might feel better tomorrow.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

The boys and i have been feeling off since monday, not really sick, but all 'heady and dizzy'
the school has this second just rung, and youngest is on his way home feeling worse.
there is definitely something going round.

At my grandsons school parents are no longer allowed to make costumes at home because some are better than others. How stupid.

So are they going to stop children attending school -because some are better than others?

When my children were younger they were always forgetting stuff until the last minute - the night before or sometimes in the morning I'd hear about something that absolutely had to be brought in.

But the prize has to go to my neighbour's son who arrived at our door one morning when he was about 7 - he needed a pair of black shoes for a pageant or something! - and only told his mum as they were about to leave for school.

He borrowed my youngest's shoes for the day! My boy went to school in his runners.
