i got my house four years ago now, and although it didn't need any structural work, everywhere had to be stripped back as every room had about five layers of wallpaper and three layers of paint, including over the sockets and light switches. The whole house has new sockets, paint scrapped of light switches new lights, every room has been stripped back and painted white, lounge is papered. New carpets, which came from my brother, he got new ones and these were only a year old and enough for whole house, fitted all but two myself which brother did, most of the doors had to come off, due to carpets being thicker, the three doors upstairs are still being stripped back, about four layers of paint on them, before going back up want to finish by 20th December as sis coming then, a bit of tiling left in kitchen, garden front and back is started but looks a mess at the mo as half is covered over to kill grass fence is broken has been for two years, thankfully my neighbour is very understanding, knowing I have been made redundant, on crutches for six months and now work shifts, hopefully this will get done early spring.
After that its all money needed jobs, windows, roughcasting, bathroom so they will take longer, but will get done eventually!?!

PS As most is done now Open university course is next for me so I can get better job to earn the money to do the work!?!

Blimey Ailsasyl, compared with what you've had to face my house-bashing has been a picnic in the park! And an OU course on top of it all?

Don't know where you get your energy from, but all the best and good luck with it all. Let's have before and after pics once it's done
