Ummm, weeeellll, if you've actually caught him then erm, legally, you can't set him free again........

Like Hayley says... if literally 'caught' no option! If you mean 'spotted' though...? Was he def digging up bulbs? My dad and I saw one doing that, or so we thought. On closer inspection though he was actually burying gravel (mistaken for nuts ).
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
They do dig up the bulbs Geo and can be a bit pesky around bird feeders and at birds nests in the breeding season but as long as they're not infiltrating the house I don't see any reason to dipatch them.
I had them in my last garden and we always managed to rub along with them. And we did have many happy times watching their antics - especially the babies.
Live and let live in this case.
And thank for the nice pic.

Interesting link Terrier, but I didn't see much in favour of the grey squirrel. But as I said earlier, there isn't too much against them either.
I would just leave them be.

is now happy ........ i reckon if they decided to do a countrywide cull of grey squirrels, to replace them with reds, i'd comply with it, cos i'd rather see reds ..... but until that happens, i'd rather have greys than no squirrels at all ...... and yup they are very cute ...... even if some people don't like them.
If they had a long scaly tail instead of a bushy one, everyone would hate them. They are tree rats, but because they look cute, we don't like to kill them.
It's probably why the British eat cows but won't eat horses. Too cute.
All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.
We thought the ones at our local park were cute as they are so "tame"...that is until they start attacking you cos you've run out of food!!I've had one pounce on my back & my sis's OH got bitten!!Not sure that they can be tamed(sure someone's come across a friendly one to prove me wrong!!),but watch out....they can be quite mean!!!I say get him in your cooking pot & be the 1st to let us all know how it tastes!!!....that said I can sort of see the cute factor
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.
