I say leave him unless it's a last option. Have you tried burying some chicken netting over your bulbs? I saw wossname on Gardeners World doing that a couple of weeks ago. Digging bulbs up is a nuisance but not an offence to warrant extermination.

I love squirrels - red or grey & would rather lose a few bulbs than the squirrel. I've just been watching a fat little grey with a lovely white tummy doing acrobatics in the tree trying to get nuts out of the bird feeder. We had one a few years ago who liked to swap bulbs between our garden & next door's, you never knew what was going to come up!

Squirrels most definitely do not share territory well. They make an awful racket having squabbles over the best branch/tree/girly squirrel! They always charge across the path in front of my pony, fur flying everywhere! Bless em!Comment
