Tammy, sorry to hear you're in the wars again. Can't offer any advice I'm afraid, just lots of virtual [[[[[[[[[[hugs]]]]]]]]] to help keep you warm.

When I was on income support my house needed a lot doing and in those days you could get a grant which I was advised to do. My OH moved in and I though nothing more about it and when the chap from the council came round again I explained that I was no longer on income support, he said no matter because you applied when you were therefore you still qualify, he took into account how much OH was earning and came back to me. We had a new roof, whole house rewired, all the window sashes replaced and windows unstuck ( not my doing ) of years of paint, our bedroom ceiling taken down and replaced with new, then they found that the back of the house was subsiding a bit and took the bricks at that end of the house from the roof down to the windows and put them back, we also had to have new pins put in and pointing. All we had to pay was £1200 and its not a council house. ( 1997 ) I was gobsmacked that I didnt have to pay them back unless we sold within 5 years, and as I have now lived here for 20 years altogether and have no intentions of selling I think I did rather well.
