Hope indeed....I went for a smear test yesterday - I'm nearly 48. The doc asked me if I was using contraception and when I said no he said very seriously - that I was at risk of pregnancy (how do I do the emoticon face with a big hole for the mouth?).

I am suffering from this on my left hand, had the right one done about 10 years ago. Yesterday I had an injection and asked to be put forward for an operation. Today it feels like I have sprained my wrist so phoned the doctors and the recepionist arranged for him to ring me, he wanted to see me, he thinks its just bruising so have to rest it but in an upright position but if it gets worse go back tomorrow. I cant do anything today it hurts just to turn on a tap or get a tissue out of a box. I know others have worse feelings today, but I am so fed up not being able to do stuff, I am always doing something. My sister once said she thought getting older was just numbers, not feeling like c**p.

I get Carpal Tunnel in both wrists, but not bad enough to need the injections just yet, thank goodness. I do feel for you though Jackie, I know how awful it can be when it's bad I hope you're not waiting too long on the list. Splints can help a bit, especially at night, have you tried one?

This made me laugh - just recently I have had 2 lectures about pregnancy/contraception from 2 different doctors, who if they had read my notes would have known I had a hysterectomy nearly 6 years ago
