no but it does mean that when arriving you will be not in the right place ...... but be in the middle of nowhere on an industrial estate, or you'll be on a lovely new road, with some stoopid woman telling you to turn round cos you're in the middle of a field

(being serious here)I do keep on thinking about coming down for a little visit - my sis is close to you too, so would be nice to spend some time there too, but.... I am petrified Of driving on motorways mainly And whether OH is fit to leave on his own yet! And other stuff...

I understand that 'stuff' gets in the way for us all at times - but as for the motorways, I try to avoid them wherever I can, you should be able to get here without touching motorways - granted it would take you longer....but even SD prefers not using motorways, we nearly always travel to pals in North Yorks via A roads

But stuff must be sorted first ....

I hate motorways meself - not fearful of them, they're just boring. We travel up to Sheffield regularly using the M1, but that's because we live right next to it and we travel up and down in the same day.

One of the other reasons I hate them is that very few people learn how to drive on them (I know many people who never drove on them until they'd passed their tests), and I for one am not keen on being surrounded by under qualified drivers...
