Evening all, we had a dry day so managed a walk down to the lighthouse, with no wind the sea was flat, hope to see a Dolphin, but nothing seen. I don't bother raking up the leaves, they end where the wind blows them, I did net a few out of the wildlife pond, but other than that as I don't have enough to make leaf mould, I let the worms do their job.

Evening, I"™ve spent most of the day indoors I made a couple of birthday cards and looked for holiday card inspiration will make a start on those later it just seems to early.

Ended up starting a jigsaw, dont know where the evening went.
Looks like it's going to be my new pastime while the weather is wet.

One of those days! It started with a flat tyre and went downhill from there....... tomorrow isn't looking promising either. My new resolution. Try and smile and ignore the ****.

Morning all.

What a difference a day makes to weather forecasts! Due to be bright all week now, apparently, and no snow. But still extremely cold. Anyway, good news for me.

Apologies for sounding smug to all the folks dealing with difficulties. Flat tyres are never good, GF, but early morning ones are worse because everything is so cold to the touch.

Anyway, busy day ahead and need to do some tidying in readiness for the range to come back into the kitchen tomorrow.

Bit of a strange day for me- it"™s my moms funeral today. Very strange not being able to be there but she"™s in my head and heart and chatting with relatives certainly lightens the grief.

gf...sounds like we need to kick this sh!t fairy into touch eh????

Morning, today's a good day no wind, rain or fog

Its our last garden bin collection of the year on Thursday so I'll be going around the garden today looking for items that aren't suitable for me to compost. Mostly weeds, branches and tough stems.

Thanks, nobody sounds smug. I agree about enjoying and trying to create "special moments" when possible although my husband tends to growl "what do you want?" when I put my arms around him for a much needed cuddle sometimes. It's sad that you can't attend the funeral Nicos but I'm sure you'll be thinking of your mum.
Snoop, in the depths of my mind the idea of a big snowfall, snowmen, sledging, curling up in front of a big fire and running around outside is dredging up warm (possibly fake) memories. The reality of digging put the car, struggling to get to the shops and slipping in the snow doesn't bear thinking about.
I have to take one of the elderly relatives to a specialist appointment up the M1 in Leeds today. At least the traffic shouldn't be too bad. I'm going to have to clear half the back seat of garden paraphernalia before I pick her up. I had to empty half the boot yesterday to get to the locking nut for the wheel. I am sorry to say the car is tending to be used as a shed extension. I MUST clear it out SOON.

Good morning all.
It dry and bright so going to the park.

Nicos, my thoughts are with you today.pYes, awful times we are living through.
My daughter got a phone call yesterday morni g to say a long time friend had passed.
An hour later her neighbour called to say he had found their family cat dead in his garden.
The cat was 17 and the family are devastated.
We are living in such sad times.

Grey and murky here again. On the bright side I didn't have to change the wheel myself yesterday. I could see the problem (a nail) and the tyre wasn't completely flat so I just inflated it and drove half a mile to to the tyre shop. It was when I got there that I found the owner had retired and shut down his business (last year). Although still legal the tyre was on it's last legs anyway. I was sent to another nearby garage by the tyreman's neighbour and at least I got it fixed immediately while I sat in comfort in the car playing solitaire on my phone and the staff were lovely.
I must be getting old, letting the thought of driving through Leeds get to me. Time to get into a different mindset. In my younger days I would happily set off to Earl's Court boat show in London without a map of any kind (and get there) or happily drive through Barcelona with a map and a useless mapreader (although I did end up down "the Ramblas" by mistake). Time to (wo)man up! I think I need to get my optimism back.
