  • Allotment Competition

For a bit of fun our local council hosts an annual allotment competition, apart from the usual stuff like tidiness and a broad variety of crops the judging criteria also covers loads of other things including harvesting rainwater, use of or recycling items/materials and consideration for biodiversity and the environment etc.
Anyway, out of 800 plots in the borough I'm pleased to say this year ours won first prize (hundred quid plus a trophy).
It's great too because I'm pretty sure this is the first time ever a no-dig plot has been awarded pole position.

Congratulations. That's fantastic. Have you got any up-to-date photos? I remember your plot (possibly plots) being really impressive. I'm sure it was a well-deserved award.

                      Thanks everyone.
The plot at 500m2 (47m x 10.75m) is difficult to capture in one photo. Sorry to be a blog bore but if if you're stuck on a rainy day there's lots of piccies on the link below. It's mostly photos, no advertising and not much write up.

Couple of pics, pond taken on judgement day July 8th this year, veg taken 1/3 of the way down the plot last October
