We lost our home 9years ago (long story) and for a while I was very bitter and twisted. Now I 've decided that Hey! Having a landlord is ok. If the heating breaks down it's his problem, I only need to decorate the inside! Maintenance is up to him. OH is still out of work, but our heads are just above water, and tho I have no idea how we will survive when I retire (and I can't wait!) I shall face that when it comes. I never expect a politician to do anything for us, they're all in it for themselves.Mad Old Bat With Attitude.
I tried jogging, but I couldn't keep the ice in my glass.

Dare I say ........ oh well what the heck ......... WE HAD A BRILLIANT SUMMER UP HERE!!!!!!
We had no autumn, we just went straight into winter in ....... er .........about late October ....... however, since then its taken a turn for the worse and we've had lots of snow and hurricane force winds. BUT ......... I'm not complaining!
Thanks for your welcome back guys.~

Ah Jennie... (see Wellie hand Jennie big box tissues? and snatches them back to blow her own nose too?!) you've been incredibly missed sweetheart, and (*wipes forehead drama queen stylie) "Just in time to save the Gardener's Rest Panto from shooting each other in the foot?!"
Actually, that is FAR from the truth (!) as it's been FABULOUS, and I've enjoyed reading it at every given opportunity, and Trousers wants to know which particular shade of Tan you've opted for with your Panto Legs this year (!)
Having detected a little bit of resistance earlier, it's lovely now to read the responses coming through from people who truly understand the meaning of why I started this thread.
There is surely (and don't call me Shirley! cheap gag, I know!!) so much to benefit from keeping Positive.
And lainey lou, you are a refreshing change that should be bottled and sold expensively!

Sadly Wellie the director/producer does not have to wear any revealing costumes or tan the legs. But I do have to don a black balaclava, black polo neck and black gloves to hit the dame on the head with a plank (don't ask!) and waft the growing beanstalk passed the window.
Why? Because I've run out of people to do jobs, so now I'm having to do everything thats left. The other night at a rehearsal (due to late night shopping in Lerwick) I ended up doing the giants voice (FEE FI Fo ....... you get the gist), then had to dash on to play the principal boy Jack (slap the ol' thigh and even sing his song), then the front of the cow was late (doing a quick cut and perm), so I had to go on with the backend and even do the dance. Yay I thought I CAN do this ...... until I realised on the next page all three were on stage at the same time ...........
Ever had a day like that?~

I have a few years to go yet but having had a taste of staying at home I am dreading retirement. I work four days a week now and that is perfect, I wouldn't want to do any less. I think the days would just stretch endlessly but mainly I need to be around people, I was close to becoming proper depressed when I was at home. I'm glad I had the chance to do it because it taught me something about myself that I didn't know. I used to dream of the day I could give up work - now I feel privileged to have a job.

You're not wrong. Money IS needed (although this weeks' local press tells of a chap that is set to spend his next 12 months completely without money.... good luck mate!). And half of the sentiment in why I started this thread, is because....
... there's absolutely nothing wrong with aspiration, appreciation or full-blown gratitude.
There's room for ALL of it in our lives, particularly where our 'well-being' is concerned.
