I'm an advocate of the secret also, watched the dvd loads of times, it takes a bit of effort to get into the mind-set but you certainly reap the rewards.
Imagination is everything, it is a preview of what is to become.

So do the following: Think of a place you like to be. With folks you want to be with... Appreciate every breath, every sunrise, every smile, every bird song, every sound and every star. Do things you like to do. Not what you have to do. Follow your heart...

Madmax - what great words. We should all take note, thank you.

And Wellie, thank you for starting this darlink.
Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

        Look Away, or Live It....?

You see - I knew that anyone that wanted to, would come forward..... and you just have. How wonderful. X

And I think a Scrapbook is just a gorgeous idea for both adults and kids alike.
It doesn't need to be a 'Visual Board'. But for me, a Visual Board works best, as I like to see that board and really 'live it' at every given opportunity.

I'm very well aware of the fact that 'We British' can find every excuse in the book to be as Miserable As Sin.

But personally, I'm ruddy well fed up with that way of life, and I point blank refuse to do that any more.

I vote that we refuse to be unhappy anymore.

        Who wants to join me?

I made that decision years ago Wellie.

I don't do negative (unless truly forced to which sadly happens now and again) and I endeavour not to do stress either, I haven't done envy or jealousy since I was a teenager. I am content with my lot and grateful for every day that I wake up (so the sunny ones are better). Yes life has crap in it - it is life after all - but there is absolutely no need to focus on it and let it take you over.

Cheers my dear and welcome to the smiley world
            Happy Gardening,
            Shirley

i totally agree with the principle - and i have my wants list etc - not a visual board because i don't actually need one - i'm a happy chappy
this year i'm hanging two stockings on the fireplace in the hope that santa slips a young lady into them!

                  I,m with you Wellie!

This year has been quite testing at times and it is easy to get into that downward spiral, but negativity serves no purpose except to create more negativity, and a positive thought is much more powerful than a negative thought.
There have even been studies done on how our thoughts effect water molecules - seriously there are photos and everything! -and think how much of our body is made up of water! (I've added in a link below)

As someone who practices healing I have witnessed what the power of intent can achieve, it can be awesome, even when done from a distant,- sorry if that's too "far out" for some of you but I am never failed to be excited when positive energy improves someones life.

So come on everyone, feel the joy, try to put the bad stuff out of your mind, align yourself with the universe and receive!

Here's some stuff about the water/ thoughts thing...

Worrying achieves abolutely nothing, it wont change circumstances. In fact its just interest being paid on debts that arent due.

Thinking good thoughts is the only way to go, who likes a misery guts?

I never really got the hang of being unhappy in the first place. I'm not boasting about this - I think it's genetic. My dad was always upbeat about everything - even when he knew he was dying. My Ma, however, is never happy. That's something SHE never got the hang of.

I've had a scrapbook of things I like for many years - lots of pictures of nice gardens and bits of houses, you know the sort of thing and when I was feeling a bit down I used to flick through and add a few more.

But just lately, they have become sort of not relevant anymore. Possibly coz I'm getting older and I actually really really love all the things I have at the moment ........

..... and no I don't really have anything different to 10/20 years ago either - just going soft in the head probably!

But I'm most excited about the fact that I am RETIRING from work next March Like you Madmax I have decided that I'd rather be worse off and enjoy all the time I have.

Oh I have missed you all these last few months I've not been around much (reaching for the hanky, sniff sniff)
