If you had told me 5 years ago i would be this into gardening i would have i would have said get lost!!!

I dont claim to be that good...i've only just started...im 27....

But i really enjoy it...it brings me so much pleasure....
I've found myself perusing garden centres for hours...
watching Gardeners World...
taking notes of plants i like....
buy lots of gardening books...
boring my family and friends with 'look at this picture of what i've grown'...
Taking clippings of plants randomly....
constantly looking at plants when im out and about...
Wishing i had a bigger garden...

I have lots of other stuff going on in my life, being outside for most of them...but i really enjoy this gardening lark!!!

When indulging in this perfectly legal high, I can reassure you that these 'symptoms' are commonly reported by most gardening junkies, especially during early use.

The 'stoked' feeling will usually be followed by a satisfying mellow 'come down' which can persist for several years and often never fully wears off...

My dad was always in his garden and I didnt understand it. About 20 years ago I went down to see him early Sunday morning and he was there in his garden. I remember him saying "you'll know when you reach middle age, cos the highlight of your Sunday will be going to a garden centre, and you'll enjoy it."
Obviously I poo poohed him at the time, but clearly, dads know best.

I'm 23 and love my garden! OH winds up saying its I'm an old woman sitting their reading GW and exciting looking at seed catalogues - BUT - he does enjoy the fact that the garden looks much better than when we moved in (there was only 4 shrubs and a lawn to start with lol) and loads better than most of the neighbours gardens

If you enjoy it there's nothing with it, much better than spending your money on seeds/plants etc than fags or other pointless habits

A blog? whats that about?

A blog is a web log. You mentioned you liked to share pictures of your garden with your family. You can write an online diary of your gardening and upload pictures that not just your family can see but anyone else who might be interested (such as myself and the other grapes here).

I do one (see link below) as a way of recording the gardening year and formulating plans for next year; it's fascinating to look back at the progress (or not) that you make. If someone else wants to read it then that may be a helpful to them and they can leave comments on your blog to give advice.

I follow a lot of gardening blogs through Google reader.
