Hope your aches subside GF and hope the side effects keep at bay for you Snoop. Didn't realise it was a big needle, I never felt a thing at the time.
Agree GF, what a difference a day makes. Just been down the lotty to pick salad and daffodils. It's a cold wind, ended up placing a couple of wind breaks for crop protection.

      Afternoon n’alln’all

Been out again getting more specialised electrical stuff for the camper...all sorted!

I did accidentally call into the bin end shop too and bought a few bits and bobs to go in the camper . No more impulse shopping now for a month until lockdown is hopefully lifted!

Hope snoop and gf are feeling ok today...(I didn’t feel mine either!)

Weather here is still lovely - it’s dropping though..only 23C today ! Still forecast snow and 5C this weekend

          Good evening all.
Yes like most other it's been a cold and breezy day here.
Went to the only hardwear/garden centre that's open in my area to buy some seeds.
There was a very long queue but I waited anyway.
Got my spring onions, radishes and lettuce and spent the afternoon sowing them.
Hope all who are feeling under the weather will have a better day tomorrow.
          Have a good evening all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

What a strange day. I should have been out in the garden but my bubble friend was allowed out for the first time in over a year. She has been to visit her sons and to have her first jab in that year. This is the first time she’s been in a shop. We only went to Home Bargains and Aldi. She was in her element. I’m now home with some strange purchases, but happy that she bought what she wanted.

I only shop at three shops, Aldi, Home Bargains and Heron's (similar to Iceland) for frozen stuff.

After shopping I went to allotment just to cover chitting potatoes in greenhouse with bubble wrap. Yeah right! That was my plan but once I was there there was no stopping me. Manged to string out and delineate the remaining beds and paths so I can order wood chip for paths.

                    Morning all
Yesterday was a cold one , wrapped up like an Eskimo when OH said he would help set up my new compost area. (He isn't into gardening so I wasn't passing up on help).
That was completed then dug holes for my shrubs i had obtained from mums garden, digging in my wet claggy clay he found enjoyable Hahaha.
Got really warm about 4oclock . Lovely.
Also had excitement of my new washing machine being delivered. The other had a bearing gone and clanking like a bag of spanners. The new one is sooo quiet.

We have Sun and a frost this morning, birds fed and bird bath defrosted. I have a blowaway in the gh for extra protection, blowaway was down to -0.3 .

I have 2 roses to plant and some more cold nights . Wondering if I should wait or plant them???
                    Enjoy your day

                      Morning all.

Cold and overcast again. Wood chips paths work great Snadge. I'd be wary of using cardboard underneath it on paths though, it becomes really slippery. Apart from being nice to walk on in all weather, once rotting (in contact with the soil) the chipped paths effectively become compost heaps and slowly feed the plot.

Snap CG, we had a new washing machine yesterday too the old one had lasted about 18 years though so not grumbling

                      Nearly the weekend

All this talk of paths... I was going to start a thread, but maybe I'll just ask here. Yesterday I was breaking up very thin twigs - too thin and snaggy to be useful as kindling, maybe a couple of mm in diameter - that I was going to bung in the compost bin as browns, but it occurred to me that maybe I could use them as path material. Anyone got any views? I thought maybe they would steal nitrogen from the plot, but perhaps, reading your comment above Mr Bones, they'd be just the job. I've got a lot from all the branches that broke off in the snow.

Bright out there. The forecast rain is off. The ground is already like rock. Weeding is very hard work. But there's plenty more to do. Not going to be doing any today though, as I feel like I've drunk a whole bottle of really rough wine. As no wine consumed for days,j I'm guessing it's the vaccine. I've done a wee bit of scything this morning and that feels like enough exertion for the day.

Hope you all have a great day. Smiles aplenty in the bag, as per.

Morning all. White frost here so I am glad I wrapped my chitting tatties up.

I have used woodchip on paths in the past and found affter a couple of years of it rotting down I could scrape it off and add to the beds as compost. The idea with the cardboard is to blank out weeds and if I give it and the woodchips a good watering surely this would take away any slipperiness?Hopefully!

                              Mornin n’alln’all

                              brrr....cold wind too .

Easter weekend...but in France Good Friday isn’t a Bank Holiday.

OH has a bad headache after his vaccine Snoop - lasted a couple of days, so hopefully yours will settle soon.

Talking of whitegoods - OH is taking our old tumble dryer to the recycling point today. It was given us a few years back as a back up one which has been handy so no idea how old it was.
Hopefully someone can make use of it!

Good Morning All and Happy Good Friday Really cold here but fine for now. I'm trying to crochet knitted squares together. I've got the method from a tutorial on You Tube and I can do the stitch, but I'm finding it very fiddly and might resort to sewing if I don't master it soon. I was going to sow some seeds today, but it's a bit too chilly to be outside. Have a good day All
