Nicos, I have a mental image of you being arrested.for smuggling .......a campervan stuffed to the gills with teabags!!!! Make sure you take plenty home. I remember once being stopped by french customs while driving a Spanish reg. car (they assumed that I didn't understand french).....I was a middle aged english woman after all. A middle aged English woman who fell in love with france at the age of 11 when I visited my first pen friend and for some unknown reason would have stayed for ever given the chance. A choice comment during their conversation made them reassess me and we parted as the best of friends with lots of giggles. I have always found that speaking another language (however badly) endears you to the locals.

Morning Mr B and all. More tea, lovely, just ready for another.
Was up early for no particular reason trimming the edges of the lawn. There has been a bit of drizzly rain so everywhere smelled lovely. Window-cleaner's here now, he always comes to me first 'cos he knows I'll be up
No plans for today as yet, may go and get some fence stain from the local DIY. Also need to start again with CFB as the slugs have had the lotLast edited by mothhawk; 24-06-2021, 08:41 AM.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land

Good morning all.
The sun is shining and there is a little more water in the butts so all good here.
Several errands awaiting me today.
Taking care of my grandson this afternoon so looking forward to that.
Have a good day all,ģ
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Afternoon, all.
Very cold night. 10.3 ºC up in the stone-walled corral, probably a fair few degrees lower where the veg are. Felt very like late September, early October this morning, when I went out to water. Even the light Distinctly autumnal. Now very nice. Cold breeze but warm sun.
Watered everything this morning, which is now taking quite some time to do. Roll on the solar irrigation system. Raked out a couple of beds and sowed some carrots. Prepared beds for overwintering beetroot and for parsnips (better late than never). Quite tired now, which surprises me. However, my arm is aching from the second jab yesterday, so maybe I'm a bit out of sorts because of that.
Frankie is fast asleep at the moment. He went out with Mr Snoop and the dogs for their morning walk. By the sound of it, he walked further than anyone as he kept bobbing off into the undergrowth and shooting up and down trees to the side of the track. It's rather a relief when he's tired. Oops, spoke too soon. He's awake and trying to play with the tail of one of the dogs. She's fast asleep but isn't going to be too happy if he wakes her up. He's turning into a very odd-looking cat. Round eyes and no whiskers above them. Just starting to develop a proper meow. He's going to be quite a character. Wants to socialise with everyone who comes round.
Loads of smiles today so please help yourselves. And have a great day.

Well, just removed the last of my husband's dressings from his elbow as gently as I could. (I would not have made a good nurse). He got me to take a photo of it as he never saw it when he did it and seemed quite surprised at the length of the cut as he'd kept insisting "It's only a scratch", (even when the anaethesist said, "We don't treat scratches in the plastic surgery department.")
Off to the allotment now even though it still feels more like Autumn outside.....chilly and windy.

Afternoon n’alln’all
Snoop….he’s not an Iberian Lynx kitten is he?…maybe a cross breed?
That might account for his behaviour and maybe appearance?
GF….Te he….I certainly intend to bring over some teabags even though I don’t need more for a while ( just to be on the safe side!)
We can’t take the camper It’s on hold at the moment long story short…..
When it was imported to France from England it appears the company we used were fraudulent and created false documents So it’s back to square one particularly as Toyota don’t even recognise either that it was even imported to the uk back in 2007 via Australia from Japan.
It was definitely legal in the UK as a van for 13 years so It’ll all be sorted in the end, but without the compliance document it can’t be recognised as a conversion so we can’t get the top up insurance…nor it’s MOT….
We can tootle around locally in it for now so long as we don’t leave it.
Very frustrating.
So…my exciting news is that we have actually booked the ferry for next weekend to visit our children
I’m bouncing with joy to say the least
Must stick the kettle on to celebrate!…

The ageing tom who died recently definitely had some wild cat in him. Took him about fourteen years before he would let Mr Snoop near him.
Frankie is extremely dark, almost black, with very black tabby stripes and spots, only visible when you look closely. A bit too sociable with people to be wild. But I reckon he's got the genes to be top tom in a feral community.

Evening that's a disappointment about your camper Nicos fingers crossed you can soon sort things out.
Snoop as a child we had a cat we called Tiger it would sleep on pelmets or on the top of an open door and leap on your back as you walked past. Someone had to prise the cat of you because it wasn't moving otherwise. we never had another cat after that.

Sorry to hear about the problem with your campervan Nicos, hopd you can get it sorted.
Bren, my sister had a cat that would hiss and chase us years ago, my kids were terrified of it.
We have been lucky and had some lovely friendly cats over the years.
Have a good evening all,
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Morning all
Frustrating about the camper van Nicos, fingers are still crossed for your visit though. Frankie certainly sounds like a character Snoop, quite an individual.
Change of plans yesterday after the forecast changed. Warm and humid so had a full day on the lotty instead and got loads done. Turned out to be one of those really enjoyable and satisfactory days.
Raining today so will be off to the shops in a while.
Meanwhile I'll get the kettle on, help yourselves to a brewLocation ... Nottingham
