My son loves the Stig and hes only 10. I would love to know who he is though just out of interest. We have a delay on UK tv programmes and recently watched the one where the Stig got stopped for speeding, i cant work out how they got round that. If it was for real, then there are at least two people (not involved in the production of the programme) who know his real identity. Erm intriguing!Comment

The original Stig (in a black suit) was Perry McCarthy, who has raced in Formula One and competed in the legendary Le Mans 24 hours. He did the first 22 programmes. After that, he decided it was time to move on as he had a race programme to contend with as well.

Lynda's right, white stig is not a formula one driver.
Could he possibly be the guy who organises all the daft things for Top Gear such as football with minis and doughnutting grannies, who also incidentally did a very famous advert involving parking a car I wonder
and is also a former autotest champion and does similar stuff for Fifth Gear.
Who, incidentally, had me screaming with laughter whilst throwing me around in a mini at very very fast speeds in a very small area. Now could he be the stig I wonder Hmmmmmm
