I shall certainly try, have one child born 11 April 2001 and the other 11 April 2002, so we could be really lucky. I wasn't working but I'll call anyhow and see what the score is and pass onto all my mates.

    Thanks for that Hashette.
I'm new to veggies, but trying !

Oh gawd CR, I am so sorry for the misunderstanding - I tend to assume that all on here know all about me as I am very open about me, my life and all that happens.

Charlie was my cat, his demise was reported here back in September/October. I was being my usual very non-serious self with that post.

However, I will still take your hugs as Charlie was everything to me, I adored him and miss him like hell...but sorry for misleading

Does this tax place not have an email address? Surely it would save hanging on the phone listening to 'Greensleeves' for half an hour?

Rang the number given and after a load of security questions I was told I had the wrong number and I had to contact my local tax office!
I was given the local tax office number where a nice gentleman told me I had not been paid the allowance and I have to write to the local tax office with my NI, my wifes NI number in case she's claimed it (which I doubt as she hasn't worked for twelve years), my Sons name and his birthday!

All in all it's looking good, so fingers crossed I get the £520 quid. Better in my pocket than Her Majesty's (wouldn't even feed the Corgi's for a month anyway!)

Madmax and I got through today. My code shows no allowance paid, but they could not find Madmax's code so we have to write to another tax office. Will update as and when. Have passed the info to a friend who may qualify too.

My OH phoned last night and it looks like we may be able to claim - yey!!! Just have to fill in a form. Folks the man on the phone said all claims need to be made by 31st Jan 2009.

Thanks for the heads up about this Hashette.

Hashette - big thanks from my daughter who rang the number, was told they didn't receive it at the time and are eligible for the full amount as their first child was born in the relevant year - they are incredibly grateful for the heads up!!

And just bringing the thread back to New Posts in case anyone missed it the first time round.

Two good things have come out of my enquiry up until now.........I am entitled to it and I get paid tomorrow so hope for a hefty refund? As a matter of interest......how do you receive payment? I'm hoping it will just be a rebate tomorrow!
During the process of registering for the payment you have to give your current address. Mine apparently was 25 years out of date..............consequently, just received some correspondence which they forwarded to me from British Steel Corporation whom I worked for for 10 years 25 years ago! They want to pay me some pension! Yippee!

Since I finally got my new pooter linked to the printer yesterday I must get the letter sorted out and posted today or tomorrow. Now to find the envelope where Madmax wrote down what I have to inform them of
