The binmen woke me up just before 8am this morning. I think my subconscious was desperately trying to fit them into my dream .... but failed. I could have really gone back to sleep, despite the fact that at 4.30 am I had been wondering round wide awake.

The washer is clanking away merrily and Mr GF has somehow just managed to tip his cereal and milk down his jumper!

The bottle of brandy hasn't all gone in cakes, Nicos. There were a "few" hot toddies when I had cold and also brandy cream to go with the mince pies. Also when I've been making the Christmas cakes I decided that I might just as well replace the milk with brandy too .... and an extra spoonful for good measure.

Much as I don't want to, I must do a grory hop today.

The postie has just been. We've just received a box of posh chocolates from one of my nieces! As well as confirmation that Mr GF has been signed off by his surgeon. Yippee!

Be kind to yourself and try not to worry, Flo. Nigh on impossible I know.

    Mornin n’alln’all

Not quite sure of our plans today. I’m hoping to get some fresh holly from the woods next to our house at some point.
I’ve already picked our own, home grown mistletoe ( hardly any berries left on it after the snow- clearly the birds have enjoyed them!)
A grory hop is also needed.
A second bottle of brandy gf?…..fantastic!…hats off to you with all your baking! I can smell that cake from here

Anyone fancy a brew? We have toast and dippy eggs too….

    Enjoy your day peeps

    Good evening.

I'm sure you're so relieved about your grandson, Flo. I hope he now goes from strength to strength and recovers quickly. Should I spot a good fairy, I'll point them in your direction. I have a feeling they're all busy entertaining kids and hogging the limelight in pantomimes......Oh yes, they are!

Being tone deaf I really don't appreciate a lot of theatre, particularly musicals or opera........and, sad to say, Shakespeare leaves me cold too. (I'm just a pleb!) Pantomime, however, has a special place in my heart. I love to see young children's reactions.

I've just taken the latest Christmas cake out of the oven and I'm probably doing a reasonable impression of a bisto kid as I inhale the aroma. The probe thermometer said it was the perfect temperature when I took it out of the oven..... so touch wood.

I'm writing a shopping list next for my grory hop. I think I might even need another bottle of brandy.....

Flo, so good to heat your grandson is over his operation and is now in recovery.
Every hour that passes now will see him on the mend.
At least you wont have that worry hanging over you throughout the Christmas.

As for our hair, it ceases to be important in the face of something like this.
Try to have a relaxed evening...The good fairy is not here either. 🙂

My eldest GG has also sent me a picture this morning. She was travelling home from Christmas shopping at Meadowhell and her exhaust fell off the car! It's all happening here. Where's the Good Fairy when you need her?

Thanks Nicos x I'm relieved to say it's over and he's in recovery. It all went well. My son has sent me pictures and there's even a short video of the procedure! Weird seeing his heart beating - Himself can't bear to look. He will be in a great deal of pain for a few weeks, but a nerve blocker and a cocktail of drugs will help to control it. He had to have 3 bars to build his chest - sorry, probably too much information
