Perfect weather Flo for him to choose to be under the same roof….even better in the same room!

Does he have a name? I seem to have forgotten….

Afternoon All. The wind is wild now with lashing rain. The cat has taken refuge on the dining chair under the table again.

We went to the National Railway Museum in York last year…that was absolutely fabulous….but no train ride sadly.
Glad you enjoyed your day Snoop

I don’t think we’ve ever seen a steam train over here…I guess there ought to be a few somewhere?!

Thanks for the info re film digitiser too

    Afternoon all.

Apologies for being so late on parade. We went out to a railway museum with steam train ride. There was an awful lot of trudging involved and not much train ride, to be honest. But we had a fantastic time.

On the cards for this afternoon: a nap. Most definitely a nap.

Slide scanners are easy to use, Nicos, and I'm sure you'll get the hang of it, especially if you'll get lots of practice as you've got lots to do. You can get devices that convert film to digital (look up film digitizer), but they aren't cheap.

Have a great rest of the day, everyone. I'm off for a forty winks, perhaps even fifty winks.

The ‘machine’ converter thingy will need to go through the computer to print them off - so that should be fun…OH will need to be patient with me
My OH has cinefilms from his childhood too gf….how do we get those onto a DVD? Anyone know?…maybe tried and tested…..? I guess the longer we leave doing something about them, then the more fragile they’ll become.

I’m just defrosting some gingerbread dough to make some stars and gingerbread men tomorrow. Quite fancying crunching on them….or teaching them to paddle/swim in a big mug of tea! They are never around long enough to get any icing on them!

The wind is really picking up here. I've made a start on decorations - I've hung a wreath on the front door. Busy polishing furniture now in readiness for Christmas coming down from the loft tomorrow.
Hope your concert goes ahead Lottie.

    Good morning all.

A really grey, miserable, very windy, damp morning. It just looks so gloomy.

Nicos, you have just reminded me that hidden away in a cupboard somewhere are all my dad's old cine films from the 50s and early 60s, taken by my dad and his sister. I did buy an old projector on Ebay at one time and watched a few, including my parents wedding, taken by his sister. I really must get them out again as I haven't seen most of them since the 1960s. My dad was a very keen photographer and developed and printed all his own black and white photos too.

I've just been working out how Mr GF can can fit in his four doses of antibiotics, when he can only have them at least two hours after food and at least an hour before, and evenly spaced out too. A logistical nightmare when I add Mr Awkward into the mix.

I haven't decided yet if/how many decorations I'm putting up this year. I'll pass on the Christmas tree as I really won't have room for it if my brother in law comes with his wheelchair on Christmas day. The decorations I love at Christmas are twinkly lights and I've got lots of them. Last night, when we went to get takeaway fish and chips I drove home the back way, through a residential area, as the traffic at 5pm was mad. There were some absolutely amazing outdoor lights. I had to smile as I was reminded of National Lampoon's Christmas vacation, my favourite Christmas film.

I think I'll make another Christmas cake this weekend.

    Morning all.

Rain and wind here, though it's not as rough as it was earlier.

Nicos, if you have more than about 100 slides it may be more economical to buy your own converter. They range from about £70 upwards.

Time for coffee and mince pies now, methinks.

Good morning all, Very breezy here but not raining at the moment,
We were battered by wind and rain overnight with 400, 00 homes left with power and multiple trees down,
    An indoor day for sure,
I might start to put up the Christmas decorations.
Have a good day all and stay safe.
