Good morning.
I knew I had to ring the doctors this morning to try and get Mr GF an appointment. I eventually got through after about 5 minutes and 13 attempts and was number 50 in the queue. I pressed 8 to request a ring back, part of their new improved system, holding out little hope for an actual appointment, but amazingly they rang back about 20 mimutes later and he's got an actual appointment with a real live doctor for 10.45 this morning. While we're out and about I need to get some bits for my brother in law and check he's okay.
It's 6°C here at the moment and, contrary to the forecast, bright and sunny. The next lot of rain isn't due to start until this afternoon. It was so dark and miserable by 3.30pm yesterday MR GF insisted on closing the curtains and shutting it out. Still, only about 2 weeks now until the shortest day.
Nicos, I agree that some pedestrians just don't seem to have any common sense. My particular bugbear, the ones who let their small children wander around while they are loading their groceries into the car. I've been so grateful to have reversing sensors on a few occasions.
Bramble, it sounds as if you had a great day's shopping.
Lottie, I hope that you've dried out.
When I see trolleys loaded to the gunnels at Christmas I often wonder what folk buy. My extras are usually extra cream and a large joint of meat. It's not as if the shops are shut for a month.
I think I must be turning into my maternal grandmother. A lovely, but sharp tongued "old" lady who's favourite sentence always began with "In my day......." before her latest rant.
Keep warm everyone.

Morning all.
No fun at all, getting that wet, LD. Sounds like you've got a good coat, though.
Busy day here, but all fun I think. Once I get the tiramisu made. Should have made it yesterday by the looks of it... Anyway, friends for lunch and then perhaps out to our village's Christmas and olive oil fair. A bit of an odd combination, but it draws a bigger crowd combining it with Christmas, plus it's a long weekend here (6 and 8 are both public holidays), so we get lots of tourists. Much better for the olive oil producers. And if I can't move after lunch, there's always tomorrow or Sunday.
Have a great day, everyone.

Mornin n’alln’all
Well…that was a windy night for sure! Can’t see any damage anywhere- anyone had any problems?
We’re getting our Xmas trees later on today so I’m already excited about that
Good to hear you had such a successful shopping trip bramble.
I was only thinking yesterday that, apart from fresh fruit, veg and cheeses/ dairy, I’ve got in all the Xmas/ New Year food we’ll be needing.
Crikey lottie- sounds like you were in a right old downpour
I find with our small campervan that people and cars seem intent on ‘nipping past’ behind, just when I want to reverse. Talk about so many blind spots…don’t they realise?
Rary…I bet that cost a lot …but it’ll make such a difference to the heating bills and just the experience of just being in the hall.
Anyone else for a brew?….kettle's on…do help yourselves.
Enjoy your day peeps.

Good afternoon, a damp but mild day today, just back home from the coffee morning in the church hall, we have just installed new double glazed windows, and thankfully the hall feels a bit warmer, the heatings lowest temperature is set at 12°c just now to try and build up some temperature, as when windows are removed the temperature goes down with this, and as there are 11 windows in the hall a lot of heat was lost, thankfully the heating was fine this morning. I have had to move the feeding pole and lift the baffle a bit higher as I watched a large squirrel jump from the higher flower bed onto the top of the baffle lid, fortunately I found this out before it could do any damage and the change has definitely stopped the squirrel getting to the feeding as it tried several timest to get to the feeding, and talking of feeding I am off to make the lunch, so have a good day and pass on the smiles 🙂🙂🙂

My parcels have arrived and seem fine. I love it when I get a map with updates on my phone showing where the delivery van is. It must speed delivery up, too, as I'm sure I'm not alone waiting impatiently on my doorstep when I know that I am next. Amazon must be very popular around here as there were 3 deliveries just for our little cul de sac, which only has 20 properties.
I'll think about finding out what wrapping paper/Christmas bags I've got stashed away next.

Flo, for knitting seams I use ladder stitch, or some call it mattress stitch. it's easy and quick and invisible.

Good morning all.
I've been quite busy this morning and am now waiting for my Amazon deliveries, (Christmas presents - Bath toys, Planters with trellis, and a book.) Due to arrive between 11.15 and 1.15.
Nicos, glad to hear that Hibou will take her tablets, even if you do have to bribe her. I'm sure she will take full advantage of the situation.
Ooooh! An update. My packages are now 6 stops away, only a few hundred yards would you believe.
See you later.

Mornin n’alln’all
vastly overslept this morning …but I clearly needed to.
I’m hoping to go to market soon, but not so sure if OH is motivated enough to want to join me….will have a brew first and then decide.
Apart from that, the last of the tidying away of my crafts and then the ‘Getting out of the Xmas Decoration Boxes’ Event.
Ours are kept in the roof space mezzanine of the garage and are always covered in bat droppings ( yep…they are covered in a tarp) Always nice to know the bats are still there.
Best get a wiggle on with that brew… do help yourselves and remember to enjoy your day
Hibou says many thanks for the kind wishes…she’s persuaded us that sh’ll reluctantly take the tablets if we give her some ‘licky lick ‘ with them. No idea what the real name for them is, but it’s stinky liquid slop in a long sachet . Seems a bit addictive so can’t be good for her!..oh well, a teeny bit seems to do the trick.
