Good evening, it has been cold with occasional sunshine today, I bought a storage battery to work off my solar panels six weeks ago and yesterday and today is the first time there has been any sunshine, I have a funny feeling OH thinks I'm response for all the dull weather, first of this morning OH said it was too co!d for me to be going out to do anything in the garden, stupidly I agreed with her, which immediately let her come back with " good we can get this cupboard cleaned out" how could I be so stupid as to agree with her in the first instance😣. You would think someone of my age would have known better, but I need to know how you older folks avoid getting caught by your OHs.
Just waiting on a phone call from oldest grandson to collect him from work, then I will need to go and collect his brother at six, he has been working in Edinburgh today and by the time he gets dropped off there are no buses to get him home, its been a day of running after grandchildren today, my sons two missed the school bus this morning, so I had to take them over to school, then daughter phoned to see if I could take he and granddaughter to the train station as they were going to Glasgow for a day out as its granddaughters birthday today. Right need to go have a relaxing evening and smile 🙂🙂🙂

Thanks All for your good wishes - they worked for the travel. My eldest GG took me. We set off an hour before the appointment as we thought we would have to drive around for ages (the parking is nigh on impossible at RHH), but we found a spot straight away, across the road from the main entrance. We were longer waiting for the lift to an upper floor! We were told by someone else in the lift that the multi-storey car park was closed and they had been driving around for an hour!

I was a bit disappointed in the GBBO final GF, which to my mind was decided by one cake.

Was it a blind date Lottie?

    Afternoon n’alln’all
I could have sworn I’d posted earlier!,… clearly not

Just sitting in front of the wood stove with rain lashing against the windows.
OH has had to go to work for a few hours so our friends have gone with him to keep him company on the 40 minute drive each way…and wander around the town whilst he’s working.
Me?…well, I’ve just taken out of the oven a gratin dauphinois and have a mixed garden fruit crumble almost ready.
    Wow…the house smells lovely

I’m sorting out a package for our friends to post for me once they are back in the uk….mostly for our granddaughter, but a couple of homemade wheat packs for my daughter. Tis sooo much cheaper that way!

Good news Bramble, and fingers crossed for Flo.

I need to crack on with this parcel so I can enjoy the last evening with our friends.

We’ve booked in a tree surgeon to look at our apple tree, the mahoooosive pine tree with its precariously split crown , and the old, very imbalanced sycamore hanging over both our cars on the driveway. Going to cost a lot I guess…but better sorted now eh?

Enjoy the day peeps…I think I may well be hogging the warmer weather?…Tis 15C here at the moment…talk about a difference in just a few days.

    .

    Good morning all.

It feels very cold here. The car was frozen solid before we went to bed and the forecast at the moment is sleet/snow showers. (not yet) with sunshine later. I'm still snuggled up under the duvet waiting for the central heating to do it's magic. I'm sure the allure of coffee will entice me to the kitchen shortly.

Today is hopefully a grory hop. Aldi is supposed to have some of my favourite cheese in today, Bleu D'Affinois, and whenever they have it in it's gone in no time.

Good news about your eyes, Bramble.

Flo, hope you hospital appointment goes well. What did you think to the GBBO final result?

I am suddenly getting lots of emails from delivery companys today. It looks as if all the goodies from my retail therapy of a few days ago will will be arriving probably tomorrow or Friday, including a new warm everyday jacket for me. I must be getting old as my first criteria was warmth rather than style. Mind you I did catch myself peeking at a red leather jacket on ebay the other day. I had a beautiful, slightly padded, below the hip, blouson style black leather jacket, back in the eighties that I loved, and wore until it eventually fell to pieces. I would love another, the same style, in any colour. Having measured, however, the ebay one was too short. Probably just as well. The words mutton and lamb spring to mind.

    Time to get coffee now.

    Morning all.

Another bright day on the cards perhaps? Hope so as the mixer will be doing sterling service today I hope. In fact, not much on the cards today except cooking and washing-up I suspect. That and watching a man with a machine do some land works for us.

Glad you had a good time, LD. And good news about your eyes, Bramble.

    Have a great day, everyone.
