Afternoon all.

Lovely first morning back after a couple of weeks or so away. Sunshine! I'd forgotten what it looked like! Mind you, it's back to cloud and drizzle again for the next two weeks according to the forecast. Very late by the time I got home, so I had a lie-in this morning and didn't see the smiles before they set off. I hope they've been keeping up their usual visits in my absence.

Belated anniversary congratulations to Bramble and Mr Bramble. And congratulations to LD too.

Off out for supper down the valley tonight. Fellow guests include our wood delivery man... He said he'd bring us another delivery this month. I shall try to resist reminding him.

Tis a drizzly day, but we are hunkered in today but planning another trip tomorrow in the camper as it’s forecast to be sunny again.

5 more days before the decorations are due to come down. I may remove some of the ‘fresh greenery’ as it’s looking rather sad now….

More family tree for me today - I’ve still loads to print off and sort, including shared photos of very elderly relatives back in the late 1800s. A lovely find!

good morning and a very happy new year to you all,and welcome back Snoop,i have been busy last few days,had a lovely Christmas dinner with my family,then boxing day day with my man and his family,also a lovely meal with his friends last night that we cooked,then home before midnight,food has to be back to a dull roar now,or i will need new clothes,i better get a move on ready to be collected again for another amazing day,have a wonderfull day all

Anybody made any new year's resolutions? I've got three: one for the next month (remove old chicken compound) one for the next four months (get the veg patches into shape for this year) and one for over the year (lose weight). With any luck, I'll manage the first one!

I'm more of a day to day person I like to have achieved something by the end of the day.

Not a new years resolution as such, more a determined effort to grow a lot less tomatoes.
Every year I say this and then enc up sowing more than I need .

Good evening and a happy new year to everyone, have been reading a lot recently, as well as doing all the cooking and cleaning as OH has been a bit under the weather, had to contact the doctor for antibiotics and steroids which although help her breathing nocks her for six in other ways also had to take granddaughter to hospital on boxing day and sadly she is still in waiting for a scan which can't be done just now as the scan machine isn't working as it needs a part replaced, hopefully will get sorted this week, can't even visit her was last visited her on Thursday, and on the way home her mother phoned me to tell me visiting was now restricted as they now have covid on the ward, fortunately I am still ok
Was at church this morning, then home made some soup, then spent the day in the garden, I will have to spend some time cleaning out the greenhouse as everything in it has been killed by the frost, in the past I would have had the important plants on a hot bed but decided this year to cut back on the use of electricity, though I think I would still have lost them with the temperature down at -10c. Well that's what I tell myself🙄

Special hello and cyber hug to you, rary. Sounds like you and your family have had a difficult week. Really hope 2023 picks up for you and your OH.

Gloomy skies here today, but can't complain after yesterday's sunshine. No frost today. Anyone else being optimistic like me and thinking the days are already noticeably longer?

Plenty to keep me busy today, but a bit dependent on other people, so will take things as they come.

The smiles were dithering today. Not sure why. Hope they pick up the pace and reach you in good time.

Yikes Rary….you need to you need to some of those smiles - not a good start to the year- sorry x Let’s hope things quickly improve for your family very soon.

I’ve not really made any New Year resolutions…the weight loss thing is ongoing, but I’d like to make a bigger dent into the blubber this year!
I think maybe I should be a bit selfish for a change and try and be kinder to myself. Well…that’s a thought at least

Looks like today will include a short trip out in the camper- we need to collect our prescriptions so we might as well go a bit further afield for a couple of hours at least.
