Yeh…it’s early for me but the rain is bouncing off the window and Hibou is running around with a squeaky toy
Well…she was….she’s now staring at me as I type. Goodness knows what she’s thinking!…probably the usual “feeeeed meeeeeee” She really can’t want to go outside in this rain!

Hope the physio goes well today lottie - pain is so exhausting

More indoor pottering for me I guess - unless the wind and rain drop.
Did you get snow this morning Snoop?

OK , OK Hibou…less energy please at this time of day….you are really not going to want to go outside…honestly!…but you’re going to have to see for yourself aren’t you?….* trundles off with Hibou in hot pursuit….might as well make a brew whilst I’m at it…..

      • Morning all.

Nicos, we had a cat that would ask to go out, so we opened the back door, and if the weather was inclement, she would decline to go out, and demand to have the front door opened. If the weather there was the same, she would ask to have her "emergency entrance" window opened, then finally decide she preferred to stay indoors, before repeating the whole routine again later.

We always said she was looking for the door into Summer

        • Good morning. I slept badly and seemed to wake up about every hour throughout the night. I eventually awoke to the smell of fresh bread in the breadmaker so got up. I've just given the old crust of bread to the birds who appeared to be waiting for me.

Mothawk, I love the idea of a door to Summer. What a sensible cat.

It feels cold here and everything is wet. I'm not sure if we've had a recent shower or if we've had a frost that's melted.

          • Morning all.

Nice cat chat this morning. Better than here. The elderly cat is eating as if her life depended on it at the moment. She is still skin and bones, though. Mr Snoop thinks she might have pined a bit in my absence. Anyway, good to see her eating well. But Frankie the Monster Boy - huge and violent - looks this morning as though he might have ear mites. We've got one of those kill-everything pipettes that's supposed to deal with them. I hope so as I don't fancy trying to put him in a cat basket.

No snow this morning, Nicos. The temps rose considerably and we had rain instead. Supposed to be dry and windy today. But guessing from the conditions out there, I think the smiles have transported the whole house to Whitby. I like Whitby, but the weather is the gusty drizzle typical of the weather when we'd go there to keep us out of trouble on wet days when we were on a camping holiday when I was little (I hesitate to say young in case Rary reads this - I wouldn't like him to make a mistake and think I'm not young now. ) Not quite enough drizzle to remind me of Ambleside and the smell of wet Cairn Terrier in the car.

Busy day ahead again. I haven't got much done so far, but at least the generator is working away, making electricity for the batteries as the solar panels can't. Anyone up for another brew with a bit of procrastination on the side (for me at least)?

            Have a great day, everyone.

            • Snoop I really had forgotten about the smell of wet dog. When I was a child we had an dog who didn't think a walk was complete unless he had had a swim in the local river. He and I used to cuddle up and dry off on the hearthrug after we got home. The smell of wet Alsation is still there in my scent memory.

Mostly rain here today, plenty do do indoors though.

Wet dog and camping don't mix especially when a Fox terrier snuggle down in your sleeping bag to dry off

                    • Good afternoon all.
Bright and sunny here with a strong wind and just 5 degs.

I had an early appointment this morning and didnt have time fo pop in.
For the past year I had a pimple on my eyebrow that wouldnt heal up.
Due to covid I hadn't been able go see a doctor although I wasnt worried about it, it was so small.
Well in September a doctor saw it and referred me to a plastic surgeon.
I had it removed in the middle of November and ended up with 11 stitches.
I got the results this morning and have been told I am all clear .

I am not preaching at anybody and I would have thought I was well clued in on things like this but it was a major shock.
Just wanted to pass this on as we re gardeners, so all outdoor peeps.

Apart from that it's my daughters birthday and we will have a glass of fizz to toast the occasion tonight.
                      Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

And yes, we’re outdoor peeps so that’s a good reminder to keep safe and check out things like that.

Enjoy your fizz tonight…..you need two as you’ve two things to celebrate! Happy birthday to your granddaughter too.

                        • Today was the day for the new superfast fibre broadband. They were booked for between 1pm and 6pm. This morning I spotted an engineer up the phone pole outside. Shortly afterwards he knocked on the door to say he'd be doing some drilling outside. Before 1pm the indoor engineers arrived. They are all gone now and I've connected a TV and 2 smartphones so far. I've also got an app on my phone to control it. I'll connect the TV in the bedroom next. Literally it was so easy. I have horrific memories of having to type in all sorts of things and spending days trying to connect things to wi fi. Oh dear just remembered that the printer has also to be connected. If I remember rightly it was a pig in the past.

                          • Wow! I don't know what I did right but I have now printed a photo from my phone. It took me hours and hours to connect to the old network.

It's an unbelievable feeling here......I tend to then be waiting very warily for whatever is going to balance it out!

My speed has now gone from 31 "whatevers" to 900 and odd "whatevers". (I remember when we went from 3.7 to 31 a good few years ago). I just hope it is reliable. I'm sure we won't be moaning about iplayer stopping and starting any more.
