Rary day centers they take books then there's freecycle, you could try putting some at your gate with a 'free books' sign.

3°C here too but the frost is still loitering in the shade. The sun is shining but putting very little warmth out.

Rary, does your local hospital take books? All the out patient waiting rooms in ours have a bookcase of read while you're there and/or make a donation and take them with you.

I think I'm going to make a date and walnut loaf later for a change. I haven't had one for years. I think I am getting used to my new oven now as I haven't had any fresh burns on my left hand for a couple of weeks. The ones I got were all in a line.

Off to mix some Yorkshire pudding batter next and make another coffee.

Not really a lig-a-bed today, GF. Got up early and have two baked sourdough loaves to show for it. One for us and one for the friend up the valley, who's arriving today. Though it's true there are days when I'm a proper stay-abed.

Still loads of snow on the ground, though it's flumphed off the trees. Cloudy and very cold at the moment, but supposed to be sunny today, so that should help matters. Frankie has gone out at last now that nothing is likely to land on him from above.

Lots to do again. Didn't get much done yesterday. Spent too much time looking out the window like a kid at school when it's snowing outside.

A lovely sunny morning but its just 2degs.
Lots of errands to do today.
I need to go to the post office, into town to book a concert.
Find a gift for my grandaughter who will be turning 20 later this month.
Get out for a walk, and do some work in the garden.

Flo, predictive txt plus bad eyesight is always catching me out.
And, by the way, thanks for the hair compliment.

Slow start to the day and as yet need to unpack the camper, so it’s just a quick nip in and I’ll catch up soon.

-3C here last night and a lovely sunny frost to wake up to. Flipping typical it was a cloud free sky last night - just a few days too late to see that Comet

Right….the washing machine etc are calling.

Good Afternoon Nicos and All The brownies are cooling and the cake is in the oven, Tezzy has been and Frank is here, washing is out. Phew! It was strange not using eggs. Now to make butterless buttercream and slice up the fresh strawberries. Hope you're all having a good day

I hope the vegan baking turns out to be a success, Flo.

I forgot to set the breadmaker off last night and then to make matters worse I gave the last of the old loaf to the birds this morning. It was nearly lunchtime when I realised we were breadless. Never mind.....we had crackers and cheese for lunch. The breadmaker is clanking away now. I have also just taken my date and walnut loaf out of the oven and I hope it tastes as good as it smells. I used an old be-ro recipe.

All this talk of chocolate brownies …mmmmm….

Great to be back…almost caught up on unpacking/ washing etc…feeling a bit she’ll shocked tbh!…going from a ‘don’t go anywhere or talk to anyone’ most of the time to a full on week of friends and relatives.
Last night I was dreaming of conversations I’d had with one person but in another persons house!

We have no frost here this morning and I’m itching to get out and do some gardening.
The bulbs are pushing up leaves….I must check on my clump of snowdrops and crocus ….

Time for a brew?…do feel free to share any ‘reject’ misshapen brownies Flo….
