  • Mothhawk...as you have so many stitches on the needle it might not work,
I would lay the needle on the ironing board covered by a few layers of fabric.
    Steam gently. Hope it works.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

        • Good luck, mothhawk. I have no suggestions to make, but sounds like you've got lots of advice there.

Bright blue but even colder last night than the night before. Haven't been out to inspect the veg patch yet. Too busy getting lunch ready for guests.

Have a great day everyone. Catch you later.

          • Good morning all.

            It's a grey, miserable 7°C here.

Mr GF's brother is coming for his dinner today and we're eating at about 2pm so I really ought to get moving and make some pastry for the bottom of a lemon meringue pie next. He can't walk far at all so I'll go and pick him up at about 1pm before I put the parsnips in to roast.

Off to feed the birds, make another coffee and zap some pastry now.

              • Afternoon n’alln’all

Very late start for me today. Slept like a log last night!…I think all my travels have caught up with me

We have a lovely sunny start to the day…no idea if there was a frost though.

OH is catching up with the rugby, so I’m not sure whether to hunker down and knit or go and do a bit of gardening. Probably a bit of both.

MH….I now have visions of the plastic welded to your knitting

I’m making a blanket for my g.daughters bed…only to be told that she’s going into a double one …looks like a trip back to the wool shop is in order….

Whatever you get up to …enjoy yourselves…I must have missed the smiles overhead this morning…unless they were busy sprinkling sleeping dust over me?

                • Good afternoon, cloudy but dry today, just finished lunch after being out at church, I had fitted new battery operated workings to the church clock, so was out a bit earlier than usual to get it refitted before the sevice I asked the minister to keep an eye on it, as I said I have tried adjusting it to gain 3 or 4 minutes during the service, and if that didn't work it at least let's him know when he ends his sermon, we are having our sons boys overnight so I have the heating on for them, personally I don't think their room is that cold, but OH insists on the room having heating😢 this is where I could add the "I remember when I was a boy" bit but I will resist doing that, I will just go out to the greenhouse and sulk
I must thank you GF for that bit of information, though I will need to wait till the boys are back home before trying it out, but you know the saying "cut a stick when you see it" so will start laying the ground work now, need to go as I'm feeling a bit dizzy, enjoy your day and please pass on some smiles
if my plan is successful, I will pass on a great big smile to gf😁

Yes, that's what was worrying me. i think I'll wait until I've finished this one before attempting to straighten it, and I have another circular needle in a different size, inthe same condition, that I might experiment with.

Bren, I couldn't face moving so many stitches twice!

I had two grab rails fitted to the shower....... but he still felt wobbly ........and needed assistance.

Thats not very helpful Nicos but thankfully GF has provided the answer yet again

                          • Tried my toe in the water this evening and said I felt a wee bit dizzy, answer, sit on your backside and stop doing as mutch out in that garden, of course if I sit down I will get housework to do, need to rethink my strategy.
As for doing things in the garden I have started making a new propagator using a heating cable, the cable is 20ft. long so should be ideal to use with a sun tunnel, now off to make up a programme about seed sowing in spring, for the Gairdin Club, so enjoy your day tomorrow and pass on those smiles. Goodnight

Rary, although I said Mr GF was sneakier than you, I never actually said his strategy worked as he expected . Of course I am helpful and caring ......and occasionally clumsy.....with the temperature control. Honest, it was not deliberate.🥶🥶

I really enjoyed having Mr GF's brother round for a meal. We had a laugh and there's half a lemon meringue pie left.

                              • Morning all.

The smiles set off with a skip and a hop today. Still very cold this morning, but very bright. It was warm enough to sit outside for lunch yesterday, though. Mind you, just as well we didn't mind sitting out in jackets and thick jumpers. So nice to be outdoors, though. We too had a great lunch. Only a tiny bit of cake left here, though.

                                Busy day ahead, as per.

Really hoping the ground thaws out a bit soon, though. Need to start making progress on the garden.

                                Have a great day, everyone.
