Himself tried to phone our GP today to check an appointment, but gave up after being number twenty-one in the queue.

Its still snowing here, just now it looks more like polystyrene than the earlier flakes.

At our Doctors the only way to get an appointment is to ring at 8am and hope you're not to far back in the queue. I've been anything from 40 something to number 8 and that's with using the World clock hoping to get connected at exactly 8am.

Good evening all.
I have been out picking up my grandson from creche.
No snow or rain here, its dry as a bone but a freezing breeze.

We dont seem to do the queue system here to get an appointment with the doctor.
I usually get through when I ring and perhaps a minute or two on hold.
It must be very frustrating.

Not had a chance to do any of the puzzles yet so it will be later tonight.

At our surgery, for appointments, you are automatically put in a queue to be rung back when your turn comes, which is a big advantage. For all other enquiries you have to hold on the line in the queue.

edited to add - Still snowing here, not stopped since lunchtime and now the night has cooled the ground, it is settling and everywhere is white.

MF the snows settling here as well, the view from the window looks very pretty

Luckily our receptionists are friendly and helpful even after waiting in the queue there's only been once when I couldn't make an appointment for either face to face or phone, that was when they were extremely busy and could only accept emergencies.

Any chance of some snow photos tomorrow?

As far as gp appts go here, we can phone up first thing in the morning and be seen that day It’s preferred that we make an online appt a couple of days ahead, but there are always last minute appts .
Now dentists on the other hand…we’re lucky if we can get an appt in the next nine months…which is why we still visit our uk dentist.

Gosh, it stopped snowing late last night and started again about 6am. We seldom get much snow here so I'm thinking there must have been a lot in other places. A day for hot soup and crusty bread and staying indoors.

Good morning all. It is snowing.......proper snowing but not really settling........yet. I got up the first time at 6am, made coffee and turned the thermostat up. I eventually went back to bed and dozed. There was a squadron of blackbirds hopping around in the snow waiting for their morning bread and fat balls when I surfaced again. I don't know if we'll get enough snow for the snowball fight a neighbour and I are planning. We decided yesterday that it shouldn't only be kids that have fun in the snow.

Nicos, I am drooling and jealous. Warm, fresh croissants with jam or even better pain au chocolat. I seem to have lost my appetite recently and found a horse's.

The mistake with the bread flour yesterday seemed to make little difference, maybe a bit flakier rather than crumbly but absolutely acceptable. The chocolate sponge is nice too.

I can't see me going far today as snow is forecast all day. I might manage to go to the garage for a newspaper for Mr GF. ⛷

Morning all.

Slow start to the day for me. Hurrah! Nobody breathing down my neck for work, though they will be if I don't do at least some today.

Rain in the night and earlier this morning. Dry now, but doesn't look like it will stay that way for long. The smiles made the most of a lull but I'm not sure how far they'll get. Just as far as Nicos's by the sound of it! Pains au chocolat - love them, but the only way we'll get those here is if I make them. I'm a keen baker, but not so keen I'd spend hours making them for them to disappear in two minutes!

Looks like it's going to be an indoors day today. Even the dogs don't want to go out. Bread is on the list of jobs for today. Didn't make any yesterday, as planned, as too much work. Mr Snoop has gone into the village today with some feeble excuse that he's got an errand to run. I know he's just gone in to buy bread. Pah!

Well despite the poor weather, the grory hop arrived, hats off to the T***o driver. We wouldn't have starved without it, but it's nice to have tonic for the gin
