Morning all.
We have drizzle! Very high clouds, so unlikely to turn into proper rain, but it all helps (if there's enough of it).
Yes, bramble, he does look brooding. I think he has a kind of hooded look, much like people say about snakes. He is improving though. He has taken to sleeping on the bed with us the last couple of nights and I'm hoping this might make him more trusting.
Really need to do a bit of paid work today. Then maybe a bit of gentle tidying.
We have a similar blackhole here - teaspoons, socks and my reading glasses... I know where I put them down, but they are nowhere to be found. Very odd and very annoying.
Have a great day, everyone.
Edited to add: Missed your post, Nicos. Sorry about that. Lovely picture of Hibou. What a gorgeous looking girl.

Good morning alo from sun y Dublin.
A clear blue sky and not a cloud in sight.
Having said that, it's a while since we had real rain and my water butts are just about empty.
Fko, glad to hear your son got the tickets for Wembley.
Nicos, nice pic of Hibou.
No plans for the dsy which I am thankful for, I seem to have been busy every day lately.
Have a good dsy all and dont forget the sun screen l
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Last night I thought I was destined to have a really bad cold, I sneezed so much and felt rotten. This morning it had gone, but I've been blowing my nose all day. Can you develop hay fever in your late sixties? I hope it is that and not an allergic reaction - perish the thought it might be Frank?Last edited by Florence Fennel; 26-05-2023, 03:38 PM.Granny on the Game in Sheffield

Good evening, it has been a nice sunny day today, so have been in the garden most of the day, unfortunately I have also been hunting lily beetles, have found three so far, I have now sprayed all the lilies with a garlic solution so will see if that makes a difference, while talking about lilies, I had ordered 25 from Sutt..s 2 weeks ago paid for when ordered the order has been cancelled in dribs and drabs and the money will be refunded in the next 7 day or so, I don't mind paying before I get the products but really object to them taking the money when they don't have the product then it taking so long to return the money, if the money can come out of my bank within a day, why can't it be returned within a day, who gets the interest from this money, I know its not a great amount but multiplying 20 or 30 pounds by a large number adds up. Sorry for being a moan but I just feel we are getting ripped off so often nowadays and it smaks of dishonesty, with that I wish you all a pleasant warm weekend, enjoy your gardeningit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Mornin n’alln’all
Wow- what a lovely sunny start to the day!
Think we’re going to have a scorchio day here too Flo!
I wonder if there is a new plant/ tree being grown in your area giving off pollen? Are you ok today? Is that glow to the north your sore, red nose? Hope it’s not Frank or he’ll end up with regular shampoo and sets! I struggle with being allergic to certain breeds of dog. However I tend to start wheezing before the nose starts dribbling and sneezing!
Let’s hope that was a one off!
Today we will be planting out the rest of our flower and veggie seedlings and getting them well mulched.
Anyone fancy some porridge?…more of a morning for melon, but that’s for later on when it’s hot and we’ll appreciate it more.
Enjoy your weekend peeps."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Good Morning Sunny, not quite scorchio yet Nicos, but getting there and still sneezing but not as bad as it was thank you
No thanks to the porridge, I do like the sound of Bren's breakfast, but I'm eating left over pizza!
Eldest GG coming this morning for coffee and for me to go over her first nursing assignment before she submits it.
For once rary - I agree with youGranny on the Game in Sheffield

I sneeze when I smell washing powder( both at home or when I walk past the stuff in supermarkets) - I wonder if that means I’m allergic to laundry?…I certainly have an aversion to ironing!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

I completely agree with you Rary. I pay for something on the internet and in seconds I get a notification to my phone from my bank telling me it's gone, but getting it back takes forever.
Yesterday seemed to be taken over by sorting out other people's problems. Sorting out appointments and organising a lunch club for a lonely old lady.
I've already been baking blackberry buns this morning. They are cooling now.
I really must do a care home visit this Bank holiday weekend.

Morning all.
It's been a bad year for allergies here. The trees have been heaving with flowers. Everyone is commenting on how loaded with blossom the olive trees have been. Mr Snoop suffered with hay fever for the first time when the oaks were in flower this year.
As for here, scorchiosissimo today by the look of it. Our favourite annual village gathering is today. Won't be going, of course, but they've got a nice day for it (lots of spreading trees in the location for people to have their picnics under).
Too hot to do any gardening now. Woke up very late (obviously needed the sleep), so will have to wait to see if it cools down later. So far behind I've pretty well given up on most things this year. Fingers crossed for rain for all the winter brassicas, which I'll buy as plug plants this year.
Quite peckish this morning for a change, so might just have to go and see what the bacon situation is. Thanks for the idea of a bacon butty, Bren.
Have a great day, everyone.

Good morning all and it's another beautiful sunny day here.
No thanks to the porridge Nicos, just had bacon, egg, mushrooms and tomato, our weekend treat.
Rary, couldn't agree more, it's a real grabbing culture and a battle to get the money back.
Gardening today but I will be a little restricted as we have a guy rebuilding two broken steps at the top and the bottom.
Have a lovely day all and take care in the sun.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
