Good morning heavy dark cloud cover this morning, so expect it will be a wet day today, was wakened twice by OH through the night, the second time just before six and couldn't get back to sleep, though to be fair my wrist felt as if it was on fire, as I think I have damaged a tendon, so decided to get up and read my book, I will get to the doctor once OH is able to attend to herself, however I can't let an opportunity like this pass, OH will think that I couldn't get back to sleep because I had to get out of bed to help her, so I will just have a lazy day, as I am a bit tired due to being wakened out of my sleep twice just a pity she isn't able to carry cups of tea and plates of biscuits while walking with crutches will see how the day goes. I hope you all have a good day and stay out of bother, but most important pass on your smiles

Good Morning All It was dull, but brightening now. Wow Nicos! I wouldn't want that hedgehead in my garden Grory Hop delivery this morning, but first I'm on a mission to clear any cobwebs away behind the furniture which is too heavy for us to move - the decorator cometh on Monday. Have a good dayGranny on the Game in Sheffield

Mornin n’alln’all
Ha….that was the only one Snoop. I had to look twice Bren, but well spotted!
My first reaction was they could put a small baguette in his mouth so he looks like he’s smoking a cigar or a yellow flower for an ear stud. It’s great to see someone’s skill and humour isn’t it?
Rary…I’ve a solution to your tea and biscuits dilemma….treat yr Mrs to builder’s/ carpenter’s apron. Loads of pockets for a flask, mugs and a packet of bikkies …oh and a pocket notebook so she can carry her list of ‘jobs needing doing yesterday’ te he!
Yesterday we nipped into a shop en root to the forest for a cucumber, and they were selling the Milka Advent Calendars. I buy one every year and share it with OH…can’t believe I’ve got it already! That’s the first thing I’ve got in preparation for ‘you know when’
Flo!??? Great news they can start so soon, I guess it’s all going to be all done and back to normal in plenty of time so you can get your ’you know what’ decorations up!
We too have sunshine this morning but with dark clouds advancing…

Good morning all, dull but dry.
Off to the hairdressers this morning.
Great pic Nicos, somebody is good at topiary.
No plans for the afternoon but I'm sure I can find plenty to do if I look.
Have a good day all.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Good afternoon all.
I love that topiary head. I bet loads of folk stop to look.
Rary, you'll have to get Mrs Rary a wheelie trolley when she gets off the crutches to push the tea and biscuits around on ........ or maybe not!
I was making coffee this morning when I heard a loud noise from the bathroom where Mr GF was. Upon investigation the folding shelf with hooks underneath in there that I use for towels had given up the ghost, and collapsed. The metal had just sheared off. I suppose it's not done too badly as I bought it in Ikea about 20 years ago and it was only cheap. I immediately looked on their website for another, but of course they don't make them any more. I suppose I was lucky that none of the towels ended up down the loo.
Fortunately I've found something similar in Argos so I've ordered it to pick up at my local Sainsbury's tomorrow. I've already charged the battery hammer drill, found a spirit level and am raring to go. If I like the shelf I'll buy another for the kitchen as I've got the same Ikea one in there of similar vintage. While I was searching for a spirit level I found that "we" have got umpteen Stanley knives and retractable tape measures, screw drivers, socket sets and every possible colour of insulting tape. I don't think that I have ever bought any of them.
I also had a tidy up of one my freezers this morning. I really ought to be more organised.

Good evening, one or two small showers this morning, then a day of sunny intervals, I was also out moving some pots of begonia, fuchsia and geraniums, all in full flower, hopefully will get them prepared for storing over the weekend. Snoop you were doing quite well with your suggestions, till you mentioned the note book not a good idea, and gf OH could use a wheeled tea trolley in place of her crutches, so definitely worth considering, now need to work up the courage to suggest it to her, evedently I will need to move the crutches out of her reach when I do that. Now off to find a book that could possibly help build up my courage Goodnightit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Morning
A dry coolish day here today.
It looks like we're all sorting out our freezers, I plan on digging up more JA's and freezing them since I've made more space.
Rary one of my neighbours used a wheeled trolly it also had a fold down seat she said it gave her independence.

Good morning all.
Although everything is saturated at the moment there are gaps in the cloud and the sun keeps poking through.
Rary, after a hip replacement one of my elderly in-laws bought one of these for outdoors
And one of these for indoors..
She found they really helped and gave her confidence. They got lots of use as over time she had both hips and a knee replaced. Her brother now uses the outdoor one with the seat. It folds up to fit in my car.
I'm shortly going to pick up my new shelf as I've had a text to say they've delivered it to the little Sainsburys up the road.

Mornin n’alln’all
A real house full Flo!…enjoy
I got my sewing machine out yesterday and repaired a few clothes, so I’m leaving it out and starting to prepare two sets of removable covers for all 5 of the campervan seat/ bed cushions.
I kept some denim curtains and duvet covers from my son’s bedroom so it’s going to be fun trying to patch them together to fit! I’m guessing there will be just enough fabric if I’m really careful.
I’m not very handy with the sewing machine, so this is going to be a big challenge, particularly the under covers which I’m making from the original , padded and zipped covers the foam mattresses came covered with as I’m hoping to reuse the zips.
I guess this is ‘fabric jenga’. We’ve used throws up until now so I want to do a proper job. Yikes- I must be mad
Apart from that which will probably take quite a few days, I’ve nothing else planned.
Hibou is now 13 and we’ve made an appointment for her for Monday with an ophthalmic vet to check out her eyes as we’ve noticed they are starting to go cloudy. If we can somehow prevent them from getting worse then that’s the aim. Same specialist we took her to 8 years ago when she fractured the orbit of her eye when she collided with a tractor wheel. He’s an amazing guy so it’s well worth the long trip in the car. Hibou’s going to hate that bit
I’m going to cut some roses today for a vase- the red ones near the well are still looking amazing with lots of buds and flowers. I know we should be cutting them back but the whole bush is still looking good. It can wait.

Oh gosh - I’ve just found out that some ‘find my past’ records have free access this weekend ( but not the 1921 Census). I guess I’ll be on there quite a bit printing off stuff .
The sewing can wait a bit longer…Last edited by Nicos; 10-11-2023, 10:20 AM."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
