Bramble, that is a terrible situation. Devastating for his mother. I don't have the words. A very big cyber-hug, Bramble.

Very sad bramble, be there for your neighbours, as they will need someone strong to be there for themit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Afternoon n’alln’all
Just got back from escorting our son to the ferry. Couldn’t help but have a bit of a sob as he drove away onto the ferry. But your sad news puts that into perspective bramble . Absolutely heartbreaking- so sorry xxx
Rary - that’s a lovely looking plant- such an unusual shade of flower too!
I just goooogoed that about seagulls gf…and yup - it’s still correct!
We always had them in the playground at junior school…looking out for dropped snacks. They’d arrive about 10 minutes before the morning break bell rang! Not daft eh?
Up at the coast earlier today we spotted a few different varieties of gulls- also cormorants , gannets , geese, and plenty of other birds I’m ashamed I couldn’t ID. Apart from a strong, cold, gusty wind it was actually dry!
We came back early as the smoke/CO alarm in the campervan kept going off. Most disconcerting as it was the smoke alarm warning going off. Even when it was outside the van ..finally we realised it must have got dusty inside- so with a good blow, it was fine. Apparently they need to be vacuumed from time to time to prevent that from happening.
Think we’ll have a slow evening. See ya later peeps.

Mornin n’alln’all
Blue skies here but really windy. Thank goodness our son didn’t sail home today!
Domestics for me today before our next set of friends arrive, and refresh some of the festive greenery seeing as it’s staying up until 12th night.
Anyone doing any new year celebrations? I think I’m more in need of an early night
Kettle’s on if anyone fancies a brew?
Enjoy your day as best you can peeps x

I’d love a bacon butty please Flo!…yummy yum ta muchly x
Just about to have porridge for brunch, but I’m sure I could find space in my tummy- after all, I’ve been in training all week to fit in a teeny weeny bit more food throughout the day!
I’d forgotten about fireworks at midnight Bren. They are a big thing here. Then and Bastille Day are about the only time you see fireworks in the shops - although I thought a new law had come in recently saying only at organised events.
Flippin expensive when I last looked

Morning all.
Cloudy and cold. The weather we should have had yesterday. Hunters nearby, so we're all stopping indoors anyway.
New Year's Eve... Where did this year go? Feels like last week was mid-February. Not sure I'll be staying up to see the new year in. Feeling rather tender after recent excesses. So much so I'll pass on the bacon butty, Flo. Thanks for the offer, though.
Got plenty to keep me busy today, but first job will be light the range. Too chilly to sit here any longer without it.
Have a great day, everyone.

Good morning. We're having a brief sunny interlude at the moment, but more rain forecast later.
I've just taken buns out of the oven and cleaned the cooker, not a hard job since I use oven liners and the top is stainless steel.
Bramble, how sad. Virtual hug from me too.
A quiet New Year for us. I remember getting all dressed up in totally unsuitable clothes in my younger days and partying all night at New Year.
Off to make coffee to have with buns now.

Quiet one for us this year, with roads still closed and bridges still not repaired, getting to some venues is difficult, so it will be Jools Holland on the telly. We just went into the Tesco's in Arbroath and there was a Pipes and Drums band in the entrance, so we are in the mood but a bit bagpiped out for now.
Have a good New Year and keep safe.
