    • Good morning all.

Every heavy frost here in the night. The car, bathed in sunshine, has now nearly defrosted but the North facing roofs are still white over.

I planned to wash the thick brushed cotton bedding too today but at the moment Mr GF is still in it. Nicos, I'm another who is glad to live in the age of the automatic washer. I still remember buying my first. It was the first cheque I'd ever written for more than a hundred pounds. The young lad who'd been sent to help me, the scruff in jeans, while his boss went off to help a smart older lady was overjoyed....obviously on commission.....the old lady bought a plug.

        • arternoon, Well awoke this morning to a heavy frost so brrrrrrrr. took his nibs for a wander thru the woods locally today - its better for his figure - while Mrs G and no1 daughter went shopping.

Then it was a light lunch and catch up on a few you tube channels while I continue to tweak the garden re-design ... wish it would warm up so I can actually get out side and crack on with it

          time for coffee

          • I've had quite a busy day today, grandson over to his work,, then a woman who is member of the church congregation asked me if I could fix her fence as it had been moved a bit with the high winds, so nipped up to sort that then I got out to the garden, the edging path is made with decking boards two a breest, fortunately when I was putting them down I had used some mahogany wood to support them and screwed it down rather than nailing it, so I could unscrew the boards and lift them out the way, simple well it should have been but I had set the ten inch boards that retains the garden on top of the inside one, however I did manage to get them all out removed the weeds, fortunately no flatworms found however I still soaked the area with salt and vinegar to kill the weeds and any flatworms that might be about, should add the mahogany wood that I have as supports is still as good as when it went down a few years ago, now going to inspect the inside bof the eyelids as I will be out tonight to attend a talk at the Burns Club, tomorrow night is my garden club night, so now just have to find something to do for the rest of the week as i really cant watch the rubbish that's starting on TV, have a good evening and keep smiling

            • Just had a nice long soak in the tub having been clearing up the patio in the sunshine. Got a tad chilled to the bone by the time my back started to complain, but I’m really pleased with today’s efforts.
The patio just needs karchering now so I can see the extent of the crumbling surface. Then we can make some rudimentary repairs particularly to the edges. Will pick up a few bags of cement tomorrow. Also potting compost whilst I’m thinking about bags of heavy stuff!
I could do with 40 winks myself Rary- almost fell asleep in the bath but it’s too late as no doubt if I did it’d be hard to get to sleep again later.

The laundry soon dried all apart from MrP’s denim jeans. I do like to line dry when I can the clothes feel so much better for it.
I’ve been batch cooking today, 8 portions of minestrone soup, 6 of curry and some naan breads. Only downside is it made me feel hungry.

Ants is something I don't get FF , must be too boggy here. Mum gets alot in the garden on her very free draining soil.
I was finding flatworms yesterday Rary, clearing pots storage area, they sit under them. They are no more !!
Hope you are not aching too much today Nicos.
Love having washing out Bren, smells so much nicer. In fact washer is on with the bedding as I type

Bit grey out currently and no frost but the sun has been promised so another gardeny day ahead.

                  • Morning all.

I'll have another cuppa with you CG, ta.

It's a bit grey and damp looking outside, going to wait and see if it brightens up a bit before deciding what to do today. Nothing pressing needs doing, except to pick up Mum's tablets from the pharmacy if they are ready. They seem snowed under at the moment with people wanting prescriptions, and there is always a queue of people waiting while staff scramble around preparing the scrips as they are often not ready even with the obligatory 7 days notice. Last time I went, I was told the scrip had been filled, but they couldn't find it and I had to wait while they did it again.

No frost here either CG its just dull and grey out.
I've ben watching the robin battling with a huge worm on the lawn it was nearly as big as them.
No real plans for today apart from walk over to the library so it will be a mix of gardening, domestics and hobbies.

                      Enjoy your day

                      • Good morning, dry with no frost, looks like it could be a reasonable day again, but will be taking OH for her shopping then a visit to our friend before heading back home and picking up the dogs, I will be having an easier day today as I need to prepare my presentation for the garden club, well actually it is prepared I will just be going over it again just to check everything is ok, if I make a mistake with it I get torn to ribbons🥴 actually they are a very friendly group and if I do make a mistake they are just trying to get their own back, as they seem to think I pick on them at times, as if but as I said an easy day as I didn't have a good night due to pins and needles in both hands and arms, which was possibly caused by the pulling and lifting yesterday, need to go as OH is getting ready for out. So have a good day and be happy

                        • Morning all.

Very chilly night again, not quite as windy thank goodness.

I've done a few minor admin jobs so far and am now about to settle down to some paid work. Mr Snoop is out at the moment to take our friend M off to catch the coach to the airport. So a few days of just us till another friend arrives on Monday. It's all go here, I tell you.

                          Have a great day, everyone.
