  • Morning all.

Grey and drizzly here. Quite windy and chilly as well. Won't be long before the range goes on. The smiles left early in pursuit of better weather, but I don't know where they'll find it.

Plenty to keep me busy as per. But at least I got a good night's sleep. Hope you both get a better one tonight, GF and CG. I'm fortunate in that it's rare that I toss and turn and don't get much kip. Mr Snoop really struggles with insomnia, so I know how awful it can be.

Leg-shaking time is upon me. Coffee on the go. I've just opened a new packet of our favourite brand so if you fancy a cup, even if you've already had one as it's decaff, help yourself while it's at its best.

    Have a great day, everyone.

    • Morning all.

Had a really good night's sleep after several broken nights, and was for a change absolutely ready to get straight out of bed and get on with the world. The domestics are all done already, apart from one load of washing waiting to go in, so I shall turn my attention to the beef casserole for tomorrow's lunch. Casseroles always seem to taste better the next day, I think.

          indeed.

Mind you, now you mention it, I've started to find it incredibly salty. A bacon sandwich doesn't appeal any more. Still like it in soups and stews mind. Toasted tea cakes sound delicious. Might just have to make some hot crossless buns this week, just a trial run for the real thing, mind...

Edited to add: help yourself to the coffee, mothhawk. I've whizzed up the milk too, so it's all frothy, if you fancy some of that as well. You got any more tea cakes going, Bren?

          • Good morning,a late start for me this morning, I just couldn't motivate myself to get out of bed, wakened at the back of six and decided to go back to sleep again the back seven ,with me finally moving at quarter to nine, fortunately nothing needing done urgently so I'll just enjoy a lazy day it's dull but dry with a temperature of 6c at present, so will spend a bit of time in the greenhouse till a, it gets a bit warmer and b, the housework gets done, enjoy your day
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Happy to put on another pot, Flo, if you still fancy it. I wouldn't mind another.

                  • Good morning all.
Wet and windy here but its 15 degs.
Talking about sleep, the storm we had last night woke us both up.
The crash of the waves as the tide came in was unbelievable.
After tomorrow the weather looks more settled.
                    Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                    • Mornin n’alln’all
Another rubbish night’s sleep for me - I even checked a couple of times to see if Jay was about!
Well, the smiles aren’t here Snoop. We have drizzle- which gas scuppered my gardening plans.
I love the smell of real, fresh coffee…but I much prefer a nice mug of Yorkshire tea ( well, two infact) to start the day. But thanks for the offer.
Send your bacon this way please Bren mmm….

How lovely for you to be able to hear the waves Bramble…that’s the stuff of holiday wish lists!

We went through all our seeds yesterday. Many had been eaten by mice But we’ve still got plenty so only need to order two or three different things which caught my eye online.

Anyone celebrating Mother’s Day? I’ve nothing planned but hope to chat/ text my children. I’ll also reflect on my own mom who I miss since her death a few years ago. Mother’s Day here is on another day so I get to reflect twice a year!

                      • Snoop the tea cakes were from the local bakery very tasty with lots of fruit. I popped the rest in the freezer for next week.
The last time I went of bacon it lasted for 10 years but the smell of it cooking on a campsite soon made me change my mind.

Been digging in the compost bins, how exciting.
Yes Nicos we will be going to my mum's tomorrow, OH lost his mum 4 years ago, mum is the only parent left now.

How nice to be by the sea Bramble, maybe not in a storm though.

Tea drinker here. My mug holds a pint
