  • Morning all.
The blue sky is hiding under a grey duvet today, and it's only (!) 17C outside. Once upon a time we would have considered that a perfectly adequate summer temperature, but today it seems a little chilly.

Had my aging car MOT'd last week. It passed after a few parts for the brakes, but needs a new battery (again). I just don't drive it enough any more to keep the batteries in good nick, and I can't help wondering if the same would be true of electric vehicle batteries. I certainly wouldn't want to have to replace those every couple of years.

Bad luck about the dentist, Flo, when you'd steeled yourself to face the day, and now got to prepare all over again.

    Endless wonder.

      • Good morning all, we have a wet start to the day.
A domestics morning for me and then I am going for a hearing test.
Sorry to hear about your cancelled app Flo...I just had the eye specialist cancel and reschedule mine last week.
        Have a good day all.

        • Most annoying isn't it Bramble? I was more miffed that they waited until the morning of the appointment to notice they'd booked me with the wrong technician. Rant over!

Some years we get big fat juicy berries. Mostly, they're tiny and pippy. There aren't many this year, and they're very dry and extremely pippy. I've tried a few. They smell OK but are a bit bitter in the mouth from the pippiness. Fingers crossed the birds can make use of them.

                • Good evening a cold wet night here, has been raining since 11.45, was down at the hospital this afternoon, the lassie started off with an apology for the fact i had been lost in the system, which accounts for the long period without any action, will now have a wait of four or five months till i get a nerve test, don't know why they are going to test me, they just need to ask OH and she can tell them, I have the nerve to go up the town dressed like a tramp, or, i have the nerve to answer her back, what more do they need, OH came in with me while i was getting tested, due to the fact i dont always hear what's being said, at the end of the consultation, we were thanked for coming in as it lifted her spirits meeting a couple like us, as I have said its better to make people smile, than to frown. With that I wish you all a very good night and please pass on your smiles 🙂🙂🙂

                  • Good evening all. Well, in spite of it starting out wet the rain stopped before it could give the garden a good soaking.
Sun and cloud in the afternoon with a really strong wind.
I had to put some of my container plants under cover as the wind was whipping the heads off.

Raryl sorry to hear you've to wait another five months, that's a long time when you're in pain and discomfort.
Not much else to report, have a good evening.

                        • Morning all.

The smoke in the sky is really visible here, LD. No idea what it's like in the UK, but if we can see it this far east of you, it must be quite shocking where you are. The trees at the top of our valley seem caught in it and I've been able to smell it for the past week or so. Even so, the moon was spectacular last night. Even Mr Snoop, who's not normally bothered by this kind of thing, was impressed.

Been out with the dog so far, got a bit of watering I need to do and then I'd better settle down at the computer. Mr Snoop has gone into town on some errands. M up the valley was off out last night, due back for lunch, so I'd better ponder on that too. But work before that.

                          Have a great day, everyone.

Really sorry to hear there will be more delay, Rary. Have they moved you up the list given all the time you've been waiting? Or is that the standard waiting time? Could she suggest anything that might help in the meantime?
