We're waiting for the grass man, he cancelled earlier in the week because of rain. The grass is not long, but the weeds amongst it are.
Hope you get sorted Lottie. I was cold last night, but didn't put the heating on. I'm wearing a fleece today, but not much warmer, so it will probably go on tonight.

oh my word Nicos,that was lucky,mine sorted now,son came to my rescue,after a long time he cracked itnow nice and toasty,plus the sun is doing well,just took DL to get her exray,she in and out in 20 mins,and we even had free parking,so the day has turned about lovely,

Its been like a summers day here but the suns going down and so is the temperature, but we're ready we've got the winter bedding on not gone as far as the electric blanket just yet though.

Good evening, its been a cold but dry day today, but can see me having to start wearing a shirt soon as I'm starting to feel a bit cold when outside, which of course will mean OH will have to wash the shirts oftener, just thinking on the holiday, if I time it right we could arrive in Kendal just after the shops shut, I'm thinking off taking her throw the town to have a look at all the jewellers shops then tell her I will buy her the most expensive necklace or broach in the windows, I know I cant really afford to buy it, but just think of the night I will have if OH thinks I can😁 Seeing comments about peanut butter , I loved eating bread pieces with peanut butter with a marmalade covering when out hill walking, now going to try thought transference:- Mr. Snoop think of blenders and cream, misssterrrr Snoooop bleeenddders andðdd creeemmmm, will need to work on this but everyone else think of smiling and passing it on🙂🙂🙂

There seems to be a bit of a barrier up somewhere but I will persevere

And can anyone tell me if a shirt will fit over a thick wool jumper and quilted jacket🤔

Brill day weeding today - baking hot in the sun once the wind dropped.
Very chuffed with the area of path/ gravel I cleared of weeds….another area tomorrow…

Having said that, there is a summer Fayre in this weekend. I always used to have a stall there but not botherespd since Covid.
They’ve talked me into the Xmas Fayre though
Dry weekend forecast so looks like it’s going to be great for being outside!

I made 4 litres of mirabelles vodka in the end …Orange and cinnamon, lemon and ginger, ginger, and star anise with juniper.
Should be interesting when they’re ready!

Frost forecast tonight….hope not!

We were in Kendal last week
OH bought some walking boots and we bought out TK Maxx
Also had our Shingles vaccine at Boots.
Never been there in the summer…so much prettier than mid winter.

Morning all.

Well, you might not have communicated telepathically with Mr Snoop, Rary, but it must have worked with me because I've told him about both the electric whisk and the hand whisk. The look on his face... I must make sure not to keep too much cream in the house, as he knows where the hand whisk is.

And yes, Rary, you can wear a shirt over as many other clothes as you like. If the shirt is big enough.

Chilly here this morning. Very heavy dew, Mr Snoop reported as he brought me my cup of tea in bed. No frost that I saw, but I got up rather late by my usual standards. Might have frost tomorrow morning. Trying not to get my hopes up but we might even have more rain starting Wednesday. The forecast yesterday said another 60 mm over a few days, but has now halved. Fingers crossed they don't halve it every day day between now and then, as it'll end up being next to nothing.

Supper out yesterday was a bit of a meat overload. We eat meat, but small portions. Supposedly lamb tagine today, but I can't face the idea of it. Not like we have a shortage of food in the house, so I'm sure I can come up with something else. Other than that, walking the dog and socialising, the day is my own. Might clean the oven. Or I might not! Not seems more likely.

Mr Snoop and visiting friend are working on a new (to us) pine door. Weighs a ton, so I'm glad I don't have to heave-ho it about again.

Good morning we have rain again this morning, and just thinking on how often I have watered my container plants in the front garden this year, at the most it would be four times, I cant remember a poorer summer than this, however there is always next year, I will be going up to give the youngest grandson some guidance on how to shovel and barrow chips for a garden, one of his neighbours has asked him to move and spread a large bag of chips for them and as his brother and dad are both out I told him I will teach him the easiest way of doing this, so have a good day a d pass on the smiles🙂🙂🙂

Late start for me- woke up to bright sunshine which was lovely. Didn’t see any frost but the sheltered side of the house said it went as low as 3.5C, so I guess at the bottom of the field on the exposed side there may well be some damage. Not been to check it out yet!

The heating came on at least, so that’s one thing sorted- just dreading the bill now It is what is is eh?

Darn Rary…you could have suggested a tab earlier!….I could have built one up for you

I’m waiting for it to heat up a tad more then I’m out weeding again.
One gravel path is exceptionally bad and it’s in the sun in the afternoon . I did one area yesterday and piled high a wheelbarrow , I’m guessing I’ll fill at least one more if I set my mind to it. It looks brill when done. This is the area around where the sink will be located which was basically access to a tap, so it’s having a bit of a makeover! The rain has certainly made it easier to pull/ dig out the weeds.

Apart from that, not quite sure really - the wisteria does need cutting back….

Where has the morning gone.
I have been outdoors and forgot the tine.
A lovely sunny morning and the temp is back up to 17degs.
Nothing on the cards for me today so I call it a free day.

Rary, I agree, it's been a very poor summer but we made the best of it.

Nicos, that vodka mix sounds very interesting, you must let us know when you taste it.
Did you have to pay for your shingles vaccine in the UK?

Shingles vaccine?…yup , it was the couple of Shingrix vaccinations at Boots, and was flippin expensive!
France only offers the single Zostavax which isn’t anywhere near as effective apparently.
Seeing as I’ve already had it twice on my head there is a high chance of me getting it again there, with the possibility of permanent eye damage…hence digging very deep into our pockets
Tis done now and I’m feeling a lot happier about it.

I know I might be picking you up wrong Nicos but if you are building a tab for me, I think you would be expecting me to pay it if so you have the concept all wrong, what it should be is you leave money behind the bar for me to use, as I said I may have got it all wrong , if so please accept my apologies, and we can get it all sorted for the next time you are over, unfortunately as no doubt you will know, being a married man I never get enough money to buy anyone a drink😕
