    • Good morning all.Its as lovely sunny morning here.
The laundry is out and I'm off to my line dancing.

Jay, go on that break, everything will still be there when you get back.

      Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

      • Good morning all.

Quite a chilly feeling one. I got out of bed, nudged the thermostat up and got back in. Brrrrr. Not a bad night's sleep, but lots of dreams ....mostly forgotten now.

I picked up Mr GF's birthday present yesterday from the mini- Sainsburys up the road and sneaked it into the car. I've just got to find a good card now and I'll be organised. ......practically unheard of.

Mr GF's very old friend rang last night to ask about renewing his blue disabled badge online.....he forgot about it, and it's run out. He seemed really happy when I told him the last one I applied for, for one of the elderly in-laws only took about a week. I was asking him if he's booked his Covid jab yet. No, because he doesn't get texts from the doctor's. They'll no doubt ring him or post him an appointment. However, when I told him I'd booked ours (and the time and date) and told him if could get one for the same time he was welcome to come with us, he said he'd like that. I can't book it for him online as you need the link in your text that only works with your specific date of birth. I have a feeling he'll be harassing the surgery today. I am now contemplating the logistics of organising three old men at the same time and getting us all to the local(ish) sports club without mishap. A sentence involving the words glutton and punishment springs to mind.

Despite today's dire weather forecast, against the odds, the sun has just put in an appearance.

I'm writing a shopping list at the moment as I plan doing a grory hop either today or tomorrow. I must remember bananas as I really fancy a banana loaf.

        • Gf…you’ve spurred me into thinking up a small surprise gift for my OH’s birthday which is in just over a couple of weeks.
I’ve suggested we get him a small electric chainsaw as his main pressie ( he has two much larger ones already)
This one I have my eye on is much smaller and lighter ( and I guess I might get a chance to use it too!) I’ll let him make the decision as to which one but his face lit up at the idea, so I think I’ve made a satisfying suggestion. I just need something small to wrap up for the actual morning now.
I need to keep my eyes peeled over the next few days. He doesnt need anything …but I’m sure I can think of something practical which he’ll use. I did look out for some really old oak crates for his beer and cider bottles but they are getting few and far between these days….plus they aren’t exactly small enough to hide in the camper van whilst we are away…

Flo….I was wondering how you are doing?…all healed up now?

GF… I need to get our Covid vaccinations sorted for next week. Thanks for the prompt.

          Anyone fancy a brew?

                • Morning Rary, morning all.

You'll need a holiday by the time your daughter gets back, Rary. Certainly a lie-in or two.

We actually had a good sleep last night. The first one since Missy arrived. She burrowed in amid a pile of cushions and stayed put all night. And after a mad hour or so this morning, she's gone back in to her lair. She's got some processing to do, I guess. We went on a brief walk last night with the dog, which Missy loved till Frankie joined us. Anyway, she's plucky, so she's coping.

Quite chilly out this morning here, but no frost. Starting to feel like it's not far off, though.

Had a good day yesterday. Went to see the local 'gestor', not very sure how you'd translate this. Bit like an accountant-cum-tax-cum-social security adviser. So helpful. Potential solutions so I don't have to work till full retirement age! Left me feeling all dancy and prancy. The dog was not very happy about this, but never mind. Odd, this, as her mum used to love dancing. Would get up on her hind legs and have a jig with Mr Snoop.

Right, better get on with things. Much as I felt like hogging them, I shooed the smiles out early. Got lots to do and they'll only distract me.

                  Have a great day, everyone.

                        • Good morning all.
Its dull and chilly, just 8 degs.
Domestics, a grory hop and then picking up my grandson from school.

Snoop, I love hearing about Missy, you must keep posting about her adventures.

Rary, I dont know where you get the energy, you must take time out for yourself.

Lottie, hope your car passes the MOT test, ours is going for it in the morning.

                          Have a good day all.

                          • Mornin n’alln’all

A dull day here so hopefully I can get outside for a short time at least before the drizzle sets in again.
I bought some violas yesterday so I’d like to get those planted out at the very least!
Yesterday’s quick trip out ended up taking 3hrs…OH had presumed the farm supplies shop would have everything he needed for his beer…but of course, they’d sold out…and the nearest place with stock in was almost an hour away. Talk about not being prepared …and as he was midbottling he absolutely needed to go and get them.

Gosh Rary - I feel exhausted just reading about your daily activities!

Snoop….absolutely brill news on your work advice. No wonder you feel chuffed.
I’m feeling a bit discombobulated today for some reason so I have a feeling it’s going to be a bit of a pottering day until I hit on something I really fancy cracking on with.

Lottie - if you are tired, then sleep/ nap- absolutely no point in fighting it. Just be aware of what might be causing it x

Have a great day peeps - whatever you get up to

                            • Oh no! The ginger Tom who visits me has just chased a rat. We haven't seen any for years, but we have kind of expected them as it's such a mess next door. They have lots of rubbish outside, including a double mattress. It is hidden from my view by the 6' fence we had put up just after our neighbours of 30 years moved out.

                              • Yikes Flo….at least he’s up for catching them!…hope he was successful.

They are everywhere in reality - just opportunists, clearly happy with the extra sleeping accommodation your neighbours are providing
I recall when I lived in a city centre soon after qualifying that we were advised to always leave the loo seat down to block their entry via the sewers
Still…not at all nice to come face to face with that reality.
