Still…not at all nice to come face to face with that reality.
Or bum to face I'd never heard of that. My loo seat will be permanently down from now on. It sounds like something out of a nightmare. In the depths of my brain a deliberately well hidden memory is muttering "1984".

I wonder if air gun pellets would crack a loo?🤔🤔

    • Lashing rain here so I am indoors.

I am another one who never heard about keeping the loo cover down.
      What a nightmare thought....
I always keep the back door closed in case they get in.

      • afternoon all,we had a drop of rain,as for the loo seat,i heard of this before,it would certainly be a shock,so beware off retreating with the news paper you fellas, car passed the MOT,the only advisory is booked in for next month,a new cam belt, never had one since new,is now 16 years old,it only has 75,307 on clock,no rot,so whatever it costs is better than risking the belt going, then having NO CAR ,i have had it for 8 years myself, now shshshshsshshsh LD before you jinx it,it was nice having home made bread and soup for lunch, not done said cakes yet,but have had a good sleep and several doze offs, feel better for it,have decided to only do 1 nice cake for both recipents, both mc millan,1 has requested a guess the weight,so i have a chart to organize as well, have a good evening

        • It's raining here too Lottie. We've got the heating on and I've just added dumplings to the Hash. Feels like a Winter's Day!

          • Evening

Flo its been raining here since 2-ish so not a very good afternoon and looking at the forecasts its going to stop Friday lunchtime

We've booked our Covid and Flu jabs luckily our local pharmacy does them its only around 5 mins walk away.

I've heard of rats popping up in toilets apparently large rats are strong enough to lift up the lid that's a scary thought.

            • Well done re the car LD…not worth risking the cambelt.
Raining here at the moment, nonstop since early evening.
Lit the woodfire and heating set to come on for a couple of hours first thing. Deffo autumnal.

Yikes Bren…that’s a scary thought…As a student, we had a rat come and eat our bathroom soap each night…ewww….Had to hide it eventually ( even carbolic soap!) It munched a small hole in the false ceiling tiles and dropped down. Just the idea still makes me shudder.

oh gosh- I’ve forgotten about our Covid jabs…thanks for the reminder Bren.

              • Morning all.

Ouch, LD. That's a big expense. But better that than lose the car.

I must admit, I've got a bit blasé about rats, though the ones here are country rats, not sewer rats. The very idea of those gives me the shivers.

This morning's big job will be go and get my photos taken for a new ID card. I shall live for the next X years with a photo with a big scratch on my nose that will undoubtedly have the border cops puzzled. Missy took a big swipe at me last night and scored 180 with just one claw. Mr Snoop wants to go wood shopping while we're out as well. And I might go and visit the fish shop too.

Better go and get ready. The sooner we're done, the sooner I'm back and clearing weeds. Thinking of sowing spinach and lamb's lettuce if it's not too late. Any other suggestions?

                Have a great day, everyone.

                • Morning

Another day of rain here, never mind its going to be dry at the weekend.

Whoops Snoop that must have come as a surprise for you and Missy. Lamb's lettuce and spinach are hardy enough they should be fine, I'm sowing pak choi it usually bolts if I sow it any earlier.

Our neighbours used to have rats living under their decking

                  enjoy your day

                  • Mornin n’alln’all
Windy, dry and not cold. Could be worse!

oh dear Snoop…do you have anything to cover the scratch makeup wise, maybe buy some cheap makeup en route?

Can you get those 18 day radish?
You can of course eat both the tops and the radish. I cook radish in casseroles or gently fry in butter if I have a glut…tasting a bit like sweet turnip

Not sure what my plans are for the day - no doubt I’ll find something …hmmmm, it’s looking like it’s going to be an indoor day after all…it’s getting darker by the minute

Enjoy your day peeps- I’m sure I saw the smiles earlier- looked like they were using brollies as wind sails!

                      • Good morning all.

It's 12°C and murky here with rain not too far away. We've got tree fellers in our cul de sac this morning. One of them is about 40 or so feet up the remaining half of the tree that split in two in the high winds a few weeks ago. They have ropes everywhere. At least it's not windy.

Snoop, can't you delay the photo until you scratch is healed? I supposes it's better than a black eye.

                        • Good morning all, dull and grey and rain just starting again.
The forecast is not good, rain and wind.
                          Domestics day for me.

Snoop, a little bit of make up consealer should do the trick.
                          Playful kittens have sharp claws.

I have spinach and spring cabbage (Greyhound) growing...nice little need heads.

Hubby has just rung to say our car has passed its MOT test.

GF, at least you will have something to watch to pass the time today.

                          Have a good day all.

Opened the door yesterday morning and there sitting on the step was a huuuge hare! Don’t know who got the biggest fright, we just stood still staring at one another lol!
