  • Urmmm… more rain!…well, that certainly wasn’t forecast!

Bren , we have my MIL’s wind up clock needing repairing. We took it to a local shop specialising in clocks and watches ( sadly now closed down) only to find they couldn’t fix it as it didn’t have a metric sized mechanism inside.
We really should get it fixed- it had a lovely slow, gentle tick.

    • Morning all.

it was very misty earlier, and the sky is a bit of a grey duvet, but there's not a breath of wind to stir the trees.

The washing machine is earning its keep today, and the vaccuum is back in the cupboard having a well-earned rest, everywhere was dusted yesterday, so I'm feeling incredibly virtuous. Going to have a second coffee now, and maybe a H/M cheese scone. I keep them in the freezer (along with the plain scones, fairy cakes, and biscuits), so I won't be tempted too often.

        • Morning all.

Anyone thinking of getting chiming clocks mended should do it sooner rather than later. We had terrible difficulties trying to get my mum's fixed, not so much because of the parts but simply finding someone who could do it. Surprisingly expensive, too...

We had a goodly amount of rain in the night. Dull and damp at the moment, but not actually raining. More forecast over the next few days.

On the cards for today, some domestics, some work to get a bit of the kitchen back in place (permanent kitchen next spring, I reckon), afternoon nap and cuddles with Missy. She's turning into a proper fusspot. But the sooner we can stop her walking across the table or jumping onto my keyboard the better.

          Have a great day, everyone.

            • Good afternoon.

Due to events beyond my control I got hardly any sleep last night. This morning there was something I needed urgently. There was only one shop locally that I knew would have it. I was outside at 9am when the shop was due to open. There was a sign on the door saying they were closed today, reopening Monday. I was thinking that I would have to go quite a long way when I decided to call in a very small shop near where I live, on the off-chance that they might have what I wanted. They didn't actually have what I wanted but had something that is actually better. I have spent all morning washing and ignoring the iron which is not going to guilt trip me into using it.

I think a very early night is on the cards for tonight, if I can stay awake until then.

                  • Good morning.

Well it's four in the morning, a ridiculous hour for man and beast but I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow last night, and I've had well over five hours of completely uninterrupted bliss😴😴🙂. I'm trying to decide whether to try and get another couple of hours, or just go make some coffee.

Now I've had a wander round and cooled right down (6°C outside) I think I'll try snuggling under the duvet and see what happens.

                    • Another three hours in the Land of Nod! I really will get up and make coffee shortly. I sleep better when it's cool but I think the central heating needs to work it's magic before I get up. Evidently it's 4°C outdoors.

Bren I know what you mean about the colds lingering. I'm feeling a lot better generally than earlier in the week, but still prone to bouts of coughing and complete lack of energy. At least the tissue mountain isn't growing as quickly. Where the hell does all the gunge come from?🤧

                      • Mornin n’alln’all
Has everyone remembered to change their clocks back?

Glad you got a decent sleep in the end too gf…it makes all the difference to the following day., especially if you’re ill or still recovering.

I’ve only just woken up too!…and to a 50% blue sky and sunshine to boot!…Clearly the smiles have been working hard this morning.

Tis my washing machine’s turn today to earn its keep. Mostly towels and bedding. Hopefully the washing line can play its part too!

Enjoy your day peeps. Much of the same for me today, domestics, gardening and sewing,

We've been up around a hour had an egg, mushroom and roast tomato cob for breakfast it makes a change from my usual weekday porridge.

GF I'm waking up a few times in the night I have a few sips from my water bottle water then turn my pillow over, and try again. it doesn't always work but worth a try.

                          Enjoy your day

edited to say a wave good morning to Nicos.

                            • Morning all.

I slept away the extra hour and feel full of vim this morning.

Blue sky here and not a cloud in it. Doesn't sunshine make a difference to how you see the day? I've made a raspberry trifle for tea (I don't put jelly in it - that would be ugh!) using a quick microwave sponge.

I can't decide whether it was a young squirrel or a rat I saw in the dusk yesterday, wobbling on a branch trying to reach the birds' fat ball, I'll have to have a check around for runs in case I need to take action.

                              Enjoy your Sunday everyone

                              • We’ve decided to have fried egg butties today for breakfast too Bren! Having said that, I do rather like the idea of tomatoes and mushrooms on it…..
