happy day all,the cake and loaf look and smell good thank you,at least the other will not waste in the freezer ,my head wants to do lots of things,i still think am a teenager,but then down to earth and be practical ,i want to draught a pattern for a cowel neck top,i am short of consentration at the mo,then the garden calls,until i look out the window,but i still have a big smile,talking of which,they been for a flutter and rest,and now gone,i also was went back to sleep and got up not long ago,we must need it,i have tried crochet and knitting,but it takes to long,see no patients,i think we are in for a cold winter,either that or the blood is thinner,i am gratefull to be able to put the heating on when needed and warm clothes to wear,have a lovely afternoon friends

Snoop, the puffball was a slightly spongy texture and had a definite, but delicate, flavour of mushroom.

As gf says….you really need to know to be sure when it comes to wild mushrooms.

Fine drizzle here this morning. Hibou was only out about 5 mins and she came in sopping wet.

Looks like our milder nighttime weather is coming to an end in a couple of days- I best bring in ( with help) the window boxes containing the geraniums today or tomorrow.
I managed to overwinter them last year so it’d be a pity to lose them!

The DIY is still continuing in the house- despite my OH not being here…his friend is coming over to crack on with new bedroom doors
Two down , three to go…

Me…?..well, more sewing I guess!
If it stops raining I’ll get up some more leaves…can’t stay indoors all day!

Nicos its looking like our overnight temps are going to drop also during the next week anything from 5 down to 1c. So I ought to see about removing the last of my GH tomato plants.

Morning all.

So far, a bit of work done and a chat with a local farmer who came down to look at the rain damage to his fields up the valley from us.

Still to come, as much work as I can get done, a small firewood delivery and supper with friends here. So all good. I didn't make a cake yesterday and not sure if I'll have time today. There's always leftover rice pud for afters.

Rain forecast is looking very odd. One website says barely 10 mm, but their video says 167 mm. Talk about not being able to make your mind up.

domestics this morning.
My friend who was diagnosed with alzheimer's has hac to go into a nursing home.
Us two friends will be visiting her this afternoon for the first time.
It is so sad as the three of us have been together since primary school.

Really sorry to hear about your friend, Bramble. It doesn't seem all that long ago that she was given her diagnosis. Must be heart-breaking for you all and her family. Dreadful for her as well. Big hug.

Good morning all.

9°C and overcast here, but the sun did make one momentary appearance earlier. I saw a couple of neighbours set off out about ten minutes ago and they were all wrapped up with bobble hats and scarves...... I really will have to pack my sandals away shortly.

I really must make the Christmas cake for the hairdresser today. I think I'll also put some butter in the freezer ready to make Christmas puddings. If there's one job that I hate it's grating frozen butter. I don't know which is worse, grating it by hand (hard work, with a high risk of grated fingers) or grating it in the food processor and having to clean the horrible greasy mess left in the processor at the end.

Hope all is well. Sorry to hear about your friend bramble. It's such a horrible disease. The sun is shining here and I can't get to the plot until the weekend. Got offered a new job end of September and we have just had problems with my references but hopefully it's sorted today and I can start my job this week. I have come out of working in care and now going into admin.
