Mornin n’alln’all
Stupidly early I know but I’ve been awake for the last three hours and now just given up No point in fighting it.
Glad the soup worked out bramble.
I’ve printed off Bren’s recipe, so that’s on my to-do list for weekend. Thanks for the heads up…and the recipe
Looks like OH may be back soon so I best go and do a grory hop in preparation!
I think/ am pretty sure we’ll have a dead hen this morning. She was on her last legs, literally, last night so I put her in a box in a warm place. Always sad to lose a chook, even if they are old.
So, on the books for me today is a grory hop, a bit of baking and sewing. I may have another go at the leaves too so at least OH will be able to find the driveway when her returns!
Right…time for a brew- hands up if anyone else fancies one.

Good morning, Nicos and any other insomniacs.
I've been awake for most of the night too. Just checked, no it's not s full moon.
I'm deciding whether to get up or try yet again to snuggle down and drift away. I'm sure that if I could convince myself I really ought to get up I'd drop off to sleep without even trying.
I'm taking Mr GF to the podiatrists this afternoon. He goes about every 3 months.
I'm hoping my parcel (bowl for the slow cooker) arrives today, while I'm in, as despite contradictory texts, it never put in an appearance yesterday.
Right, I've decided. One last try at drifting off to the elusive Land of Nod. I'll snuggle up to Mr GF. Either drop off to sleep or .... possibly wake him up, so I've somebody to talk to.

Good Morning All I was already up and about this morning when I got a message from the decorator to say he can't come today - most annoying as we put off having Frank.
Cloudy here, but washing on in the hope it brightens up. Grory Hop as usual later. Have a good dayGranny on the Game in Sheffield

Good morning again.
A much more civilised hour now. I did fall asleep eventually and it must have been proper, heavy sleep as I never heard the binmen come and empty the bins. I think that there was a frost last night. Some of the cars on the street looked suspiciously white when I got up. Aaaargh, I just looked at the weather on my phone ❄️❄️❄️. I can see snow is forecast for a few of the days next week. It's still November! Maybe they've got it wrong....... Pretty as it night be, it's too darn early.
My hairdresser was very happy with her Christmas tip, the cake, and went straight to the shops to buy some mild crumbly cheese on her way home. I know it's only November, but I won't see her again until the beginning of January. Reminder to self: I need to buy a 2025 calendar when I see one.Last edited by greenishfing; 14-11-2024, 09:34 AM.

Morning all.
Dry at the moment, but everything is dripping wet. I saw videos of Malaga yesterday, bramble. Really severe flooding, though fortunately nothing like Valencia. We got off lightly. From the videos and pictures I've seen, some local villages (maybe 25 km away) had a huge volume of rain again, but we only had 60 mm per square metre. So in the last ten days or so, we've now had well over what we'd have in a normal year and three times and more what we've had in the last two drought years put together.
All these cakes being made, I think, LD and GF, you are going to have to set up temporary accommodation for the smiles. Bed in a bag will do. Just make sure you send them out on their rounds. They're a bit sluggish this time of year and need reminding to get up and about.
Got enough work to do today to keep me busy, so better step on it.
Have a great day, everyone.

Good morning all.dull and misty but its 12 degs.
Snoop, yes, Malaga got a real hammering from all that rain. We have been going to Spain for the last forty years and we never saw anything like it.
Glad to hear there is no flooding in your area
.
Nicos, the poor henl , so sad to see anything die, even a hen.
A trip to the hairdressers this morning and then I hope to make tomato soup this afternoon.
I need to free up some space in the freezer.
GF, I hope your delivery arrives safely.
Have a good day all.

Good morning, or should I say middle of the night.
Wide awake here, for no good reason. Mr GF is sending out the zzzzzs😴😴😴😴. I have no idea what made me awaken. I am even considering getting up and making coffee.
I still haven't got my parcel. Maybe today.
It feels decidedly chilly tonight. In fact I have just ordered a couple of brushed cotton fitted sheets and I think when I change the bed we'll go over to the brushed cotton duvet set. I might even put my sandals away for this year.
I'm going to attempt to get back to sleep now.

Mornin n’alln’all
* whispers incase gf managed to get back to sleep
Full moon tonight me thinks?
I actually slept like a baby, so I’m one happy bunny
I’m fancying a brew, but the house is still chilly ( getting much colder I see on the weather forecast!)
My parents used to have a teasmaid- what a brill invention in a house pre central heating!
As a student, next to my bed, I used to have one of those heating elements which hooked over the side of a mug.
Ah the joys of making life easier for ourselves!
On the books for today for me?…well, it’s going to be busy…washing and drying; making a quiche ;roasting old veggies ;a bread and butter pudding using some of the bread my neighbours gave me for the chooks; making a pork casserole for tomorrow - and something for tonight; tidying up the house ( mostly rearranging my sprawled out crafting things)for OHs homecoming first thing in the morning and taking Hibou back to the vets for a check up.( her heart ultrasound is now booked in for the 4th Dec- so at least by then we’ll know exactly what we’re dealing with.
So , I best get a wiggle on!
Anyone fancying a brew?…
Enjoy your day peeps!
