My youngest GG, who is now 21 said "There's no doubt she will do that Nanny, because when I stayed with you overnight, she used to fly down and do some rows of my knitting."

Great news, Flo. Really pleased. Put the fairy on a champagne cork, open and see if she lands safely. If not, well, you've got a bottle to celebrate with.

Yes, I do think these bonkers ideas up on the spot. Just as well Mr Snoop is no saner.

Sorry to hear about your hip, Rary. Hope they come up with a solution for you.

Little things mean a lot, that was very sweet of you Nicos, he might give it to someone else now

I've put the tree up, but the fairy will have to fly to the top because neither of us can reach!

Well…I just nipped out to the local shop for a very basic grory hop, come back and it’s still not here.
Cant see it arriving now over the weekend, and typically we’re out on Monday Cant change the appointment either.
    Oh well…

At least I made a rather doddery elderly chap happy whilst I was there…he couldn’t find a euro to put in a trolley and started hobbling into the shop.
So…I gave him mine as I’d just unloaded it. He absolutely insisted on trying to give me a whole pile of small change - which I declined and said ‘Present!…Happy Christmas’ and he nearly burst into tears with gratitude.Awww..
You never know what troubles people carry around with them do you?….
I think I made his day….his reaction certainly made mine

Sorry to hear about your pain Rary. Fingers crossed you can get an appointment soon.

I actually came on here to have a bit of a vent…not like me, but we’ve been told to stay home awaiting a signed delivery of a new phone for my OH ( previous one has popped it’s cloggs)…delivery due …12-2pm yesterday
Each time we are told it’s out for delivery but when we check on line it says it’s still at the warehouse .
No idea when it’s a actually going to be delivered…I’m starting to wonder if it’s been nicked from the warehouse…makes you wonder doesn’t it? Or maybe package broken and hidden away…..
The irony is that we also paid for next day delivery on Thurs.
Some of us need to go out matey!
    Disappointing or what?

Good afternoon, dull and damp but definitely a bit warmer today, hope your grandson is a lot better Flo, thinking of you both
We have started putting up some Christmas decorations, but have been instructed not to be putting any outside this year, at the moment I must agree with OH as I am struggling to move about as I think my hip is starting to go, I tried to get an appointment with the doctor yesterday, the earliest s 20th. January, so will need to be quick off the mark on Monday morning to arrange a phone consultation with one of the doctors, with this I can understand why hospital A and E is under pressure I think a number of people would head to the hospital with the severity of the pain, at times it has me just about scliming the wa's, (thats climbing the walls for those that are unsure what I mean) anyway at present I can manage so will just have to be patient, and of course, being a married man I am used to being patient
Flo I need to ask, is there any possibility of borrowing the jest of drawers that you kept you pyjamas in, if I leave anything in drawers or wardrobes any length of time they seem to shrink, where evidently yours must expand I think I had better duck out for a time so have a good day and find something to smile aboutand

Ps please remember Flo we are all thinking of you🙏

    Good morning all.

The sun is shining brightly for the first time in days. It makes the world seem a much nicer place.

I had an awful night's sleep. I struggled to drop off and then kept constantly waking up. I did not want to get up this morning. I've just looked, it was a full moon, which always tends to make things worse.

I am avoiding the shops today as I'm sure that they'll be like lunatic asylums. Mr GF lived close to the city asylum when he was young and says awful sounds used to come out of it, particularly on the full moon. Parts of the building still stand and have been converted into flats I think.

Flo, I hope your grandson continues to improve.

Carrie, I hope you feel better soon.

I'm going to put Mr GF an almond croissant in the oven shortly. They didn't have the plain ones in the supermarket but if anything the almond ones are even nicer. Many years ago I once tried to make my own croissants from scratch .... and realised why there are bakeries on what seems like every corner in France.

    Morning all.

Wise words, Bramble. What good friends to each other you all are.

No news seems like good news at the moment, Flo. Hope his recovery is going leaps and bounds even though it'll be a while before he is. Big hugs.

Bright blue here this morning and the sun is starting to warm everything up. But a really hard frost in the night. Bedroom nice and toasty warm, though, as Missie woke me up to pad up and down in my hair, so to deter her from turning it into felt, I got up and relit the fire from the embers. Untangling my hair has become a major problem. Mr Snoop suggests I wear a bed cap but I imagine the elastic round my forehead will be uncomfortable. Plus I'd feel like I was in some Charles Dickens film adaptation. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd gladly hear them. At the moment, I look like I've got alopecia, I've had to pull so many knots out.

    Have a great day, everyone.
