Mornin n’alln’all
Ta muchly for that brew Cg…perfect timing
Looks like today I get to play with the wood splitter I thoroughly enjoy this te he….that will boost the smiles en route to you all.
The diet went to pot this weekend.
I made sticky Parkin last week - and we both kept trying it out to see if it was sticky enough…and now there is only 1/4 left!
( we’re talking a Parkin the size of a big roasting tin here)
ooops.
The remaining chunk was escorted to the freezer for future use
I daren’t even want to think about working out how many calories were in it, but it clearly showed up my lack of self control when it comes to dieting
Ho hum….
Right!….Porridge and stewed peaches for breakfast…."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Morning
Nicos your 'testing' Parkin made me laugh I think you did well to have some left to freeze. Next time you bake Parkin you'll have to find someone to babysit it for a week
Pinhead oats with freshly picked raspberries here for breakfast.
enjoy your dayLocation....East Midlands.

Morning all.
I've often wondered about getting a wood splitter. What do you have, Nicos? Do you recommend it? I can't ask the locals as they use splitters attached to their tractors.
Bright and chilly here. Another decent frost. House feels empty but lots of kind messages from people. Thanks for yours, guys.
The day ahead brings paid work, finishing the grave and allotment bed clearing if I can fit it all in.
Frankie is keeping the smiles busy at the moment. He's currently engaged in a battle with the quilt, so at least he's picking on something bigger than himself and not being a bully. Doubtless the smiles will head off when he's exhausted himself. Shouldn't be long now.
Have a great day, everyone.

Good morning all.
Dull and damp here.
Nothing exciting other than domestics today.
Have a good day.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I should check to see if the manufacturers were taken over in case we need spare parts at some time
Will look it up and get back to you.
Its an electric vertical hydraulic one….and I love how easy it is to set up and use it.

Morning all. I've just decided I'm doing the Grory hop today as a large part of tomorrow will be taken up with the in-laws. The car roof looked suspiciously white first thing this morning and the wind has really dropped. It's cloudy and still at the moment and we've just reached double figures temperature wise.
I've never seen or used a log splitter but they sound like a great idea. As a child one of my jobs was feeding, cleaning and occasionally relighting the coke furnace and cleaning and laying the coal fire. Both these jobs required chopping sticks from logs and also rolling paper sticks. By the time I was 8 or 9 I was an expert on lighting fires and had it down to a fine art. I would also have probably made a good axe murderer.

I’ve found it Snoop!
Its a Ryetec which is a blue version of what looks like the ‘Forest’ SF100 RAPID 220
No idea if it’s still made , but it was clearly from Italy originally
This is the company we bought it from…
https://www.ryetec.co.uk/about/
Maybe they can help you find it’s equivalent?
I’ll take a piccie of the sticker on the side. Looks like we bought it in 2005!

Thanks, Nicos. I'll check that out. B.3 looks to be the name of the company, yes. Maybe Ryetec were the suppliers. Anyway, something for me to go on. Brilliant.
Edited: I've just found it from a Spanish supplier but with next to no information. But from the height of cuts, it looks like it makes kindling rather than split logs.
Re-edited: I've just checked the manufacturer's site in Italy. The Spanish supplier talks about logs max 105 mm long, the manufacturer says 105 cm. Big difference! Will ponder further. Thanks for the info.Last edited by Snoop Puss; 08-11-2021, 12:06 PM.

It's a good point, nick the grief. But Mr Snoop can't do much upper body effort for heart-related reasons and I've got arthritis and have to be careful with my hands. Clearly, we aren't meant to last forever either.

Good afternoon, cold and wet here today, haven't done much today as I had a bit of a problem and had to wait in for a phone call from a doctor, when I did get it I am now waiting to go to the chemist for a prescription, possibly a connection to Snoops statement "Clearly we aren't meant to last forever" however as I am just a young man, well compared to some of you lotI intend to be here for a long time yet and just a note for nick when Vauxhall made the change in the 60s their sales dropped quite a bit as they had replaced their quality model with a rust bucket that no one wanted, it took them several years to regain their sales, right need to go up to the chemist now so take care and keep warm and safeit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
