Talking about Sales….they are very regulated in France. This winter the Sales run from 11Jan - 7 Feb and the summer one 28 June - 25 July.
so…no rushing out to the Boxing Day Sales for me!. Not that I need anything anyway

Is it time for another brew?….I too have mince pies to offer

Talking about sales, my grandaughter got a job in Next while on her Christmas holidays.
She will have to be in work for the store opening at 8.0'Clock in the morning.

Morning

A frosty start to the day here.
I can't think of anything I need from the sales so probably the same as yesterday reading and shuffling jigsaw puzzle pieces around. Although I did spend a fair time catching up on the phone and WhatsApp.

Sunny but cold here - nice to see the sun again
I thought we’d of had a frost but nope.

I heard the geese in the distance this morning. They live on a local farm. Not heard them for a few days so I guessed the worst….just crossing fingers they make it past New Year. Its the little daily things we take for granted which we often miss the most when they are gone isn’t it? I love hearing them- always brings a grin to my face.

OH is making bread today so I’m not sure if we’ll end up going out in the camper van…Santa brought him a couple of bannetons ( proving baskets for his sourdough) so he’s trying them out.

I managed quite a bit on my jigsaw yesterday. It’s so much more difficult not looking at the picture even though I’ve done it a few times over the years! Clearly not got a photographic memory!Its strange knowing we have a massive list of things needing doing ( mostly diy) but feel we’ve ‘got permission’ just to stop for a few days!

Anyone fancy a brew?…

Its damp here but its improving.
We are hoping to get out for a long walk if the weather behaves.
Otherwise it will be jigsaw making or reading.

It has rained here all morning and feels bitter cold although the thermometer is showing 5°C.

Mr GF has just put in a request for another Christmas cake as the current one is very nearly gone. I think I can manage that......

I think a lazy afternoon is in order and a return to normal food.

Yeh…I’m starting to look forward to ‘normal’ eating again.
I skipped my weigh-in yesterday - and next Monday too no doubt

I’m hoping to get out in the garden tomorrow - there’s quite a bit of tidying up in the aftermath of that really cold weather. Slimy nasturtiums being one of them.
I’ve not really had much of a wander around the garden and veggie plots but can see a couple of very sad looking English marigolds with flowers on still.

Very blustery here….and so dark!

I was surprised to see our garden solar tree lights were still working this morning….only just faintly glowing, but still enough power left to glow!
It just shows his sunny it was yesterday.
Looks like we are set to have your rain gf.

Today will therefore not be spent in the garden…but I’ve loads of family tree info which needs sorting into different files, so I’m grabbing a guilt free day to get stuck into that instead. One less thing on my none urgent list to tick off

Has anyone been to the Sales? I did remember that I need a second duvet cover…I might look out for one online. It’ll save the cost of tumble drying my one and only.

Right….more importantly - who is up for a brew?

Rains forecast for all day today, so no gardening here. I might not even leave the house apart from emptying my compost caddy.

I've not been to the sales but they do look as busy as usual, good luck with your duvet cover shopping Nicos, any idea what you're after ?

Mornin Bren.
Ideally a patterned linen ( to hide Hibou’s dirty footprints). The cost though of linen is very off putting, so I guess it’d have to be a Sale item.
Alternatively 100% cotton.
Not sure about the colour though…I guess it’ll jump out at me when I see it! Problem is that I prefer to see/ feel it in person as sometimes the colour photos aren’t as accurate as they could be.

Its been raining here overnight but it has cleared now.
We are going to exchange a gift that was faulty,
Then hoping to get a walk in.

I bought some new bedding back in November.
We have a lovely shop called Home Store and More.
I am not sure if they have branches anywhere else

Morning all. ..... another wet and blustery one. I'm off to the supermarket later. I need milk, cream, yoghurt etc, etc.

I hope you find a suitable quilt cover, Nicos. I'm still really happy with the brushed cotton ones I bought a month or two ago.

Nicos I agree with you on patterned fabric if you’ve got pets jumping on the bed
We’ve gone back to plain grey duvet covers now we’re dog less.
It’s still raining here but I’ve not got far with my new puzzle, it’s a cross word one so not many clues we’re the pieces go.

Eeuugghh!!! ......Or in other words Yuk.......Yuk ........and double yuk!!!

The kitchen sinks were completely blocked and half full of lukewarm water this evening when I went to wash up.

No option but to empty the cupboard under the sink....... a definite no-go area.....and remove the u bend.

All done now. The u-bend was completely blocked with god knows what.

I would hate to speculate......
