  • Good morning all. It's a rather chilly one, -4°C right now.🥶 Brrrrrrrr. Everything is frozen solid but it is bright.

Yesterday I didn't go out until 2pm but even then I had a serious battle with the drivers side car door. It was frozen shut. I have since applied a smear of vaseline to the bits that I think froze together. I'll go out soon and see if it has improved matters today. Our central heating is working overtime. I might even put the thicker quilt on the bed when I change it next, not that I'm ever cold in bed.

    • Morning all.

Sunny today, but just getting ready to sucker punch us tomorrow with rain, rain, rain, plummeting temperatures and snow overnight. Better get ready, then, says Mr Snoop. Me, I'm just going to stock up on dry firewood and water indoors and call it a day. Mind you, he's not so mired in catastrophic thinking that he can't tell me that These Are a Few of My Favourite Things is a waltz and then start singing a bit in an exaggerated manner to prove it. Eeh, we make our own fun here.

Right, time to get to work. Have a great day, everyone.

      • Good Morning All. Sunny again, but freezing cold here. I was not supposed to have Frank today, but he's coming at ten so that's my day sorted! Have a good day

Still -3°C with lots of visible frost, but my car door was completely ice free. Joy!

          • Good morning all.
Bright and sunny but minus 3 as well.
No plans for the day but I'm sure something will present itself.
            Have a good day.
Glad to hear the vaseline worked GF.

              • Another -6 last night but at least when I got up at 8am it was a balmy -3!! Looking at the weather for next week it’s rain all the way with temperatures up to 14° in places!
Had my scan on Tuesday then 2 missed calls from my health board on Wednesday which I didn’t notice until after 6 last night. I was a wee bit worried until going to bed last night I realised it was probably an automated call to remind me of my hospital appointment next week! Honest wish they would use a human and leave a message, would save unnecessary worry!
Anyhoo, hope you all have a lovely day! x

                • Frank's not best pleased as I've neglected him a bit today. I've stewed some apples for pies and I found a bread mix in the cupboard so I've made a loaf. I don't remember buying it and when I looked at the packet, the expiry date was October 23! It's risen so will put it in the oven with fingers crossed

                  • Afternoon n’alln’all

Just a quick nip in whilst I have a warming brew. Just got home from Rouen.
Boy has it been cold .
yesterday we had freezing rain…really heavy and soaking. Not been that cold for ages, even though we were wrapped up well. Then overnight 10 cm of snow.
Driving home was slushy once the sun came out, but we were really wary of patches of black ice too.
Lovely to spend three days with friends and have a darned good natter and explore the area.

I’m just about to unpack but I wanted to send my condolences to everyone who is experiencing a loss. Not an easy time for anyone xx
                    Sad times.

                    Will pop back later….

Flo you’ll have to let us know how your loaf turned out.

                      • Nicos ... stuck in the pub eh ... 3 friends as if we believe that ...It was cold here today ( -4c) but bright so its a sign spring is on the way.

Well tea cooked and eaten coffee nearly gone so I'd best get on with what I was doing and finish off the planting plan.

                        • Good morning....or middle of the night.

I'm in sleepless mode again. I awoke at 4am and cannot drop back off to sleep. I've got up and am having a glass of milk and some chocolate. It is very cold outside, what looks like a hard frost, pretty to look at.

I'm feeling on the cool side just looking at it through the window, I think I'll have another try at snuggling down in my lovely warm bed, even if I don't sleep.

                          • Morning all.

It's pouring out there. I'd be very glad except I might have to go into the village to await a delivery and don't much like driving in the slippery mud on the tracks. Glad you got home safely, Nicos.

Other than that, all good. Had a night of very weird dreams. Mr Snoop had to wake me up as I was shouting to warn him the aliens were sucking all the air out of the air, so to speak. Went back to sleep and the whole thing restarted. Fortunately, before dropping off, I'd managed to turn them into good aliens who weren't aware of what they'd done and promised not to do it again. Very odd. Quite exhausted this morning after all that.

Your loaf will be fine, Flo. I speak from experience... And if not, well there's always toast, bread and butter pudding and, as a very last resort, croutons!

Tea's made if anyone wants a cup. I'll leave it over by the mugs. Help yourselves. No biscuits I'm afraid. Will try to remedy that for next week.

                            Have a great day, everyone.

                              • Good Morning All. Sun shining again, but it's a bit cloudy today - washing may have to be tried indoors.
