  • Morning all.

Dropping in for a quick say hello. Off today and back in ten days or so. Will try and drop in in between times, say hello, make sure you're all up to yes good rather than no good. Especially you, Rary. No ladders while I'm away. I've told the smiles to keep an eye on you.

Happy gardening. Do some for me...

    • Mornin n’alln’all

      Safe trip Snoop

Well- it’s finally stopped raining! I didn’t get to do the grory hop yesterday so I’m going to go to the main town and get a bigger one in later.
Other than that, no real plans for me today….nor the weekend so far. No doubt I will cast my eye over the ‘must be done urgently preferably yesterday’ list and set to.
      Enjoy your day peeps!
I’ll keep my eyes peeled for your plane Snoop - are the smiles going to escort you?…I’ve not seen them so far.

      • Morning

        Safe journey Snoop.

The robins back the rains kept them away the last couple of days so its back to building again. There can't be much more to do, hopefully they'll nest here and not abandon it like previously.

        Enjoy your day

          • Good morning all.
A bright but cool morning at just 2 degs.
Grory shop this morning and no other plans.
We will probably go to the library this afternoon.

            Have a safe trip Snoop,

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

            • Good afternoon all.

I've been baking buns earlier so now I have a happy husband😋.

I also got round to trying out a Christmas present he bought me. In Summer, when the shorts and skirts make an appearance, I occasionally get round to shaving my legs, which has always seemed a horrible messy job, often including the odd cut or several, and which involves bathroom cleaning afterwards. In my younger days I have experimented with more painful methods of hair removal but decided they weren't worth the pain. For Christmas Mr GF had bought me an electric razor. I charged it yesterday and tried it this morning. Why did I not get one years ago? Quick, mess free and painless. I don't yet know if there's a downside. I really hope not.

It is really cold here today, but the sun has put in an appearance.

Snoop I hope you enjoy your trip to "our land of rainy skies and gales".

              • Wow! Yesterday afternoon I decided I was going to order a Honeyberry bush for my niece for her birthday, next Monday. I ordered it late yesterday afternoon and delivery, to me was supposed to be between next Tuesday and Thursday. I have ordered from this company, via Amazon, before though and the goods arrived early. They have however surpassed themselves. I went out to the car an hour ago and there was my order.

                • Honeyberry . Like the sound of that.

Have stopped. Not exciting but bought a pizza stone.
Also after my sourdough failing bought a sourdough loaf to show OH what I was trying to achieve. He likes.
Called in at mums with some shopping and she gave me her pastry marble slab/stone thingy, already given me her rolling pin and rest. A heavy stone sort of day
                  I missed the sun.

                  • Good afternoon, had problems with my tablet the past couple of days and I mean the computer tablet not the edible kin though I do have problems with that as well OH doesn't like it so guess who doesn't get it that often anyway it's sorted out
lolnow and really running fine till the next time this one was nearly in the bin or through the window, it's been a bigs mistake getting this one, but will work away with it till one of the grandchildren needs a new one, whoever bit is will no doubt be able to work it fine😡 just as well I'm a married man and know how t be patient 😏 it has been a bit wet the past couple of days though yesterday did clear up to a fine day, and today definitely a bit colder and heavy showers this morning, i did manage to get out to do some work, I replaced the hand rail at the bridge, I need to bed in one of the big stones I use as a step on to the bridge as it's quite shoogly, but will get that next week when the overnight temperature is a wee bit warmer, I don't like mixing concrete when overnight temperatures are low, I also hoed over the bed I will be using for onions, just went to post this thread when I lost the post, when I brought it back up I had lost some of it so had to post then edit, I can see this thing getting the heave shortly
Have a nice evening and if you feel the way I do try smiling it might get rid of the anger

it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                      • Gf…name the company - can’t see why not to recommend them! Credit where it’s due!

I managed my big grory hop and by chance called in at a building suppliers to see if they still sell Indian sandstone as it looks like we’re onto Plan B with resurfacing our patio
The original plan was to use Railway sleepers cut into slices of planks but apparently the sawmill says there are too many knots for it to work properly. We bought them about 8 years ago as end of line from a suppliers at a massively reduced price so we’ll now need to sell most of them on - which of course will help pay for the stone which the building supplies place now supply!!!!
Sooo happy as I was worried about the potential for slipping on wood.
Just need to set about working out exact measurements now then place the order.

When I came home I noticed the vet’s van was parked up outside,. Next door’s had called her for a home visit for her cat so OH asked if she could see Hibou afterwards as she’s limping. As expected , an abscess from fighting the Tom cat, and antibiotic treatment is now underway. We were planning on taking her to our vet on Monday so that’s saved the visit and the car journey which she hates.
On the way home it started hailstoning…brrr….

                        • Good evening all. .a lovely sunny day but a cold breeze.
went shopping and ended up in B & Q.
Bought some pots of minature daffs which were selling at half price.
I will use the bulbs to fill up a few gaps in the front border.
Also bought some flower seeds which I think were totally overpriced
My own fault, there was no price on but wasnt expectinging that price,
                          The brand is Verve.
                          Coreopsis...€4.45.
                          Gazania...€4.45
                          Calendula...€3.95.

Rary I rarely use my Kindle it’s slower than dial up used to be so I do sympathise with you.

Nicos a friend took down their slippery decking it was unusable when it was wet.

                            • The company is called Yougarden. As I said I ordered from them on Amazon. Afterwards, I belatedly decided to ask my sister if the bare stick I had bought her for Christmas (same plant), was still a bare stick and she reassured me that it was no longer a bare stick but was bursting into life.

Shoogly, I've not heard that either but its a great word.
I almost bought some narcissus in pots in the supermarket today. But didn't.
