A dull and damp day here as well Flo but I'm still going to hang out the laundry once the machine stops. Enjoy your day with Frank we've not had our borrowed dog since before Christmas.

Rary a little moan does you the world of good, hope you soon back to your normal self.

    Location....East Midlands.

    • Good morning all.
Its sunny and cloudy here but its dry and 7 degs.

Last night when I went to lock the porch door I found a large bumble on the window sill.
He was staggering around and then just fell sideways.
I mixed some sugared water and fed it to him on a spoon.
After about 20 minutes he started to walk again.
When I got up this morning he was flying around , so I let him out.
This is the second one I saw this week there was one on the rosemary Bush on Tuesday.

Anyway, lots of donestics to do and errands to run.
We are off on holidays on Monday so trying to get everything ship shape,

Rary, hope you get sorted soon, you've been coping with that for a while now.
And you are allowed to moan now and again, so long as it's not too often. 😃

      Have a good day all,

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.

How kind of you to help the bumblebee bramble, and thank you for your hope for me, but must wonder if that's the wife bit in you coming out with, allowed to moan, so long as it's not too often

          • Rary, yes..., now that I have read it back, it does sound like "a wife thing" Sorry about that, but when you've been a wife as long as me it goes with the territory.
How ever, you're entitled to moan when you're in pain or discomfort.
Hope you get some relief soon. 🤞

            • Thanks bramble and it was the husband bit in me that viewed it as a bit of wife advice 😁

              • Good morning frosty here this morning, taking grandson to his work again this morning, bus services in this area are deplorable, not sure what we will do today, will wait till OH decides to tell me, just thinking on that reply to bramble in my previous post, and made me realise there are some things you should never say to your wife, one in particular springs to mind if having a discussion a husband should try to avoid saying something like:- not sure but and that's a big but there. You can sometimes see the eyes clouding over, but a good husband will realise he should stop there, or you will finish up digging a big hole for yourself so on the bit of advice I wish you all a pleasant day and 😊😊😊

                • Mornin n’alln’all
Windy, wet, cold…brrrr, very nippy….not a nice morning . So…who’s got the sun today then?
We bought two point of lay Harco chooks yesterday morning !
They went in with the rest of the flock last night and this morning are fine! We kept them in sight of, but seperate from the others during the day so they could eye each other up and one even layed a strange soft shelled egg. Well, two soft shelled eggs attached to each other! Most strange. No yolks as yet as they are only babbies sorting out their egg laying equipment!
I’ll take piccies to share when the weather improves. Basically they are black with speckled russet feathers on their heads, necks and chest. We’ve had Harcos before and they’ve been lovely temperament and layers.

Not feeling very motivated at the moment..,seems like it’s followed the sunshine

Rary…please make a bit of a fuss with your physio/dr….pins and needles is one thing but numb fingers need investigating quickly. My OH got told off by his surgeon for leaving his hands too long as the nerves may be permanently compromised.Yours may of course be something completely different but please ask about this concern x

                  Right, anyone for a brew?

                      • Good morning all
Well, there will be no picnics here.
When I opened the blinds this morning the place was white and it's still snowing,
Looks like it will be an indoor day although I have some family calling in the afternoon.
Have a good day and stay warm,

                        • Good morning.

Very cold here too. The forecast is for a mixture of rain and snow showers. At the moment we've got heavy rain banging against the windows. Unless things improve I may not leave the house today.

I am even considering doing some ironing (dirty word) and cleaning some kitchen cupboards (long overdue).

Walk done and shopping soon, how exciting.
Grey and cold put there, no sunshine here either and certainly don't fancy any snow thanks.
I'm not sure if something caused your problem Rary, I had the same when I was first ill, maybe couple of years. Do get the odd time now of pins and needles in my hands and numbness, my fingers were blue. Mostly now it's just freezing cold wrinkled fingers or cold toes. I don't know if it was medication or just the problem with my blood vessels but quite a few have had acupuncture though you may not fancy that. Do get pushy and get help though.

                            • Good afternoon still very cold got some more cardboard and have put it down on the back plot, then took a walk over the fields and collected some molehills, the soil is now sitting in the greenhouse to heat up a bit, then I will plant some potatoes in buckets and keep them in the greenhouse, I have two varieties of potato both earlies, one Rocket the other Caledonian Pearl, never heard of that variety but thought I would give it a go as the seed potato looked fine. Now off to get some more work done before OH decides she needs something done , so hope you all keep warm and cosy , remember at your age you don't want the old to get to you

                              • Hi Folks

Long time no see! Just to let you know I am still in the land of the living and for some reason I had an urge to post on the forum and update my avatar. I had to get a piccie to renew my driving licence at 70 so I thought I may as well get some use out of it. I notice some of the old protagonists are still about sonice to see you, and new punters as well, which is good. Not much to add, I still have an allotment, I have just purchased a small lean to greenhouse/ cold frame for homebut I am scard to put the glass in it for now until we get rid of these terrible winds (they say peppermint is good?) Lol

I have loads of seeds to sow and I have broad beans, spring cabbage, Japanese onions & Elephant garlic all growing well at allotment at.
