  • When I awoke I could see out through a tiny gap between the curtains. It looked light and bright for a change. However before I jumped out of bed I reached for my phone to check the time. It wasn't even 7am! ..... and light.... when did that happen? Needless to say that I snuggled back down for another "half hour". It is still sunny now, but clouding over rapidly. We desperately need a spell of dry weather as everything is so boggy.

I'm going to feed the birds now.

    • Good morning all. Its bright and sunny at 5 degs.
      Off to the church shortly.
I will be spending the afternoon packing as we are off on holiday tomorrow.

Bren, glad your Robin's came back. We have a pair in our garden for the last few weeks.

      Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,

Did a last check of my garden. Put out all my pots of cyclamen that I had in the porch
Daffodils are in full bloom and are really putting on a great display this year.

Bren, you must have had a good dsy for you're Louvre windows to open, long may it last,

Nicos, the weather is a little unsettled but its warmer than ours.

              • Good evening, it has been sunny today so after church I was out to the garden, where I did some weeding, I have decking timber path around the grass which is looking untidy so I decided to lift it and clear some weeds from under it and trim the edges, on lifting the wood I discovered three flatworms, now disposed of, and have soaked the ground with a salt and vinegar solution which hopefully will kill off any existing flatworms, I also came across my first ladybird of the year while I was weeding, one of the reasons why I went for clearing the decking path , doing this I won't inadvertently be pulling anything that they might be using to hibernate, anyway three to four hours of work to clear slightly more than a quarter of the path, so a fair bit of work to do, hopefully it will stay dry for a time so that I can get the job finished, to those on holiday, or going on holiday enjoy the break and if you pm me I will send you a list of things I would like so that you can pick something from it for me😁 right of to wash the dishes, OH is watching dancing in ice, a program that leaves me cold🙄 so have a comfortable evening and stay cor and warm
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Lovely day today here in Gods county so we took you Gus the grief for his usual ramble with a stop off for a coffee and biscuits. along the canal there were some nice spring flowers so I had to do the touristy bit and then the coffee stop and I suddenly had a little friend ... seems to be a theme here

                          • Mornin n’alln’all
Lovely piccies NTG - thanks for sharing Gus certainly knows how to butter you up!

We awoke to a heavy frost again this morning, and it’s turning into a hazy watery sky with the sun trying to shine through.
Good idea about the washing CG…think I’ll get our bedding done and hung out.

I’ve decided to start clearing the patio - OH was going to help me over the weekend but he had to work as it’s spilled over into this week.
It’s pretty overgrown with damaged edges too so we need to get our heads around prep work needed and exact area for slabs to be ordered. At over 30€ a slab I really don’t want to massively over order as they won’t buy back any spare.
Trenches need digging for armoured cables, new concreted areas created as we’re slightly extending it….railway sleepers cutting for edging..…. All needing doing before final measurements for ordering the slabs. OH is having hand surgery next week so will be out of action for a few weeks for doing heavy work and it’s looking pretty unsure now as to whether he’ll actually have any spare time now before his op. I can only do so much to help!
It’s going to be fun trying to get it done working around guest dates too as we won’t compromise their calm stays with us. Ho hum

Rary - what are you using for the edging path?

Right- this washing won’t get itself done- I’ve got buttons to press! ( Thank goodness for modern technology eh…hand washing using a dolly and tub wouldn’t have been much fun on this frosty morning)

Enjoy your day peeps…those smiles seem to be up to mischief this morning - must be the sunshine making them giddy.

                            • Morning all.

Lovely photos nick the grief. Proper spring, by the look of it. And Gus has grown into a proper charmer. Like master, like dog, doubtless.

Nice to see you back, Snadger. Love the avatar picture. May your plot grow as lushly and lavishly as your beard.

                              Have a lovely holiday, bramble.

All good here. Chilly night and a good frost. They had some good strong winds while I was away - very bouncy on the plane back - but looks like today might be a bit calmer.

Will have a look around the Vine and then settle down to the usual work.

                              Have a great day, everyone.

A frosty start here but the suns steadily melting it all away, I'll be another one hanging out the laundry once the machine stops.
