Morning all.
Still raining... But the end is apparently in sight.
Had a lovely evening yesterday. The fire in the bedroom was really nice and in fact, as we left the door open, took the chill off the whole house more than we expected.
More tidying today and a bit of paid work in readiness for Monday, as I haven't got a lot done these last few days.
Mr Snoop is proposing I make a loaf of bread. My first in getting on for six months. Wonder if I can remember how to do it. I need some snacks tomorrow, so might see if I can get some pizza dough going too for mini pizzas. Feels very cold here for bread dough though. Unless of course I light the fire in the bedroom again.
Have a great day, everyone.

Morning
I do like the sound of a bedroom fire Snoop, our upstairs fireplaces were blocked off years ago and the chimneystacks taken down. It must make the bedroom very cosy.
More gardening today I'm making the most of the council green bin there won't be many collections until next year.
enjoy your day.Location....East Midlands.

Mornin n’alln’all
Oooo….a fire in the bedroom sounds absolutely lovely!
We once stayed in a hotel which had a peat burning fire in the bedroom- so cosy
We’re off to the vets shortly- Hibou is pretty ill. Started yesterday. We think she may have eaten something ‘off’ as she has previously done, but she’s not bouncing back. Can’t be too careful. Fingers crossed it’s something easily treated.
Enjoy your party tonight Fl

Good morning all......just.
We were very late up this morning.
All this talk of sausage rolls😋😋. Yum! Yum!
I haven't made puff, or ruff puff pastry for years. One of my stepdaughters, who died a few years ago, used to have an allotment in a nearby town. Across the road from her allotment was a large Asian supermarket where they used to sell packs of squares of frozen puff pastry. .... each about 15 cm square. I've never seen them anywhere else and they were gorgeous and so handy to keep in the freezer. I also used to buy my spices there as well. They used to sell largish bags of whole nutmegs for the same price you'd get a little jar with 3 in anywhere else. I haven't been since before covid. I think a visit must be overdue. The other thing that I could buy in there that I struggled to find elsewhere was packets of sago. Not only did they have it but they had a choice of sizes ..... big frogspawn or little frogspawn. It was like shopping in a foreign country, all the exciting aromas, but with the advantage that all the staff spoke English and were very helpful.
Nicos, I hope hibou is alright. Good luck at the vets.🤞
I think there is something wonderful about a real bedroom fire, unless you're the one who has to clean it out and re-lay it. I was in charge of fire maintenance from a very young age ...... as soon as I was strong enough to lift the ash buckets, use a hatchet to chop sticks, and carry half a scuttle of coal. I must have been a very sensible child🤣🤣🤣.
We've been hearing odd fireworks here for a few days. A few years ago someone told me it was a way for the local drug dealers to let their clients know what they had available..
See you later.Last edited by greenishfing; Today, 12:15 PM.

Back from the vets.
The only vet available was the cow specialist
But, she’s had a chest X-ray , antiinflams, antibiotics and something for congestive heart failure
Check up on Tuesday with a small animal vet to see how she is progressing .
Very grateful they managed to squeeze her in .
I was only thinking the other day Snoop that you’ve not mentioned bread making for a while."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Oh, that's so sad, Nicos. Hope the small animal vet arrives at a different diagnosis.
And yes, I haven't made any bread since all my kitchen stuff got packed away months ago prior to the building works. We're still in a state of building flux, so to speak, but Mr Snoop cannot live without bread for any length of time. I'm not kidding - he gets anxious if there's no bread in the house. Anyway, to accommodate his need for bread, we've shifted a load of stuff around to make a temporary kitchen with enough space for my mixer. I have to admit, I'm very glad to see it out too.
Fingers crossed for Hibou.
