Good night all.Very busy day. Gardening, laundry, unpacking, shopping and then my grandson came in with his mam.
His latest craze ...Hot Wheels and Pokemon cards. He knew I bought some in Spain and couldn't wait to came and see what I got.
We spent a lovely evening but not long finished dinner.

A dull cloudy day here.

Bren, at forty years old how large is your cactus? Maybe break a few bits off and start a new one. I used to put the one I had before this outside in the Summer, which it seemed to like, until one Autumn I forgot to bring it back inside.😥 My current cactus came from bits I managed to salvage from that one!

GF I'll do that in spring hopefully that'll give it a boost. I've had a good look at it and it looks like there's either new leaves forming or flower buds

Morning all,all set for another crimbo cake,when i get more awake,fruit been soaking up the booze,i could easily go back to bed,the sky looks full of something not nice plus it feels a chillier so far,heating is on,i cannot be cold

Not checked out the oven shelf get, but I think I’ll leave it outside again overnight….maybe not….

Good morning.

Grey yet again and 8°C, but not raining. I've got the red light of doom on the router....no Internet. At least the mobile Internet is working on my phone though. I tell a lie! My phone has just connected back to the router😀😀😀. Back to normal. It's a rare event but I do find it very unsettling. I think I just take modern technology for granted these days. I still have memories of the old dial up Internet, when my mother used to moan she could never get through on the phone, and you could only connect one computer. Also, the first time we got a wireless router, and I couldn't quite believe I could use the laptop anywhere. As for connecting my phone and printer, it still amazes me that I can click print on my phone and then go into the other room, and the printer has done it's job.

I ought to make another Christmas cake this weekend, for my hairdresser. We've got an appointment on Wednesday and then I won't see her again until after Christmas. My hair looks awful as I cancelled her when we had the awful cold. Hard to believe that 3 weeks ago we both felt so ill.

Off to make more coffee now.

Afternoon all.

Very late on parade for me today. Took the dog (and cats) round some of our woodland looking to see if there are any edible mushrooms after all the rains. Spotted just one. So not worth picking. Surprising I didn't see more, as conditions are absolutely perfect for them. Anyway, didn't manage to make my way around the woodland for fallen trees and dead juniper. Very hard going. Cats and dog couldn't understand why I couldn't keep up with them when all they had to do was climb up and over or duck under.

Mr Snoop has fixed some of our kitchen plumbing and has now gone out on a grory hop. So I'd better shake a leg and make it look like I've been busy too rather than just tripping up over bits of fallen wood.

Hope your cake goes well, LD. I'm going to give our favourite ring cake a go a bit later.

Cake in the oven,it looks as it should be,and the bowl scrapings taste good,i did put 2 tubs of cherries in the 9in cake,as a comment was heard about where are the cherries,i only got onr bit in my slice,i do like to please hahaalso got a loaf on the go,when the oven is free,it will be a coffee and walnut cake,Nicos did you rember the shelf and was it better,

Yes,lottie! …I’ve been and checked it.
More has wiped off so I’m going to chance leaving it outside for one more night…then give it a good scrubbing tomorrow when hopefully more will have lifted off.
Quite chuffed tbh so once cleaned up properly I’ll keep on top of it this way from now on.

Had a good sleep last night so feeling quite chirpy at the moment.
Just about to make a brew….any else fancy one?

Think I’ll light the fire today - not cos it’s particularly cold, but it’s Sunday, and it always has a feel of a special day.

Snoop - my OH found a puffball in the hedgerow about 300m from our house when our friends were here so we had it sliced and sautéed in butter for breakfast. It was about 9” in diameter too. Spot duly noted for future investigation!

More sewing for me…only 2weeks to go but I fancy some fresh air so I think some leaf collection is in order at some point,

Whats everyone else up to?
Not seen the smiles yet, but it’s a tad early I guess unless the have acquired some night vision goggles?

Out for lunch with the family to celebrate my grandsons graduation and his birthday

Nicos, I didnt know puff ball mushrooms were edible, my mother always told us not to pick them.

Morning all.

Bright blue and lovely here today after a cooler night. But have just looked at the weather and it looks like the next big storm might hit us too... That's rather put the kibosh on my good mood. Anyway, it's a few days off. Fingers crossed it bypasses Valencia at least. Firewood delivery tomorrow. Hope it's good and dry and we can get some in under cover.

Had another nice walk with Missy and the dog this morning. Lots of small mushrooms springing up, but only one of our usual edible ones. Never had a puffball, Nicos. Was it nice?

Better get on with the show. Need to do some work and make a cake at very long last.
