Morning all.
Started off bright, but it's now clouded over. Drizzle forecast for this afternoon, so I'd better go and cover the firewood back up again.
Mr Snoop usually makes the morning drinks here because he has difficulty sleeping, so is always first up. But when it's cold enough to light the woodburning stove in the bedroom in the morning, or if there are embers so it's easy to restart, I bung a kettle on top and then just hop back into bed till it has boiled. Bliss.
Sounds like you've got a busy day on the cards today, Nicos. Me, I've got a relatively easy one. Some work I've been putting off and a firewood delivery, so need to sort out where that's to go, with a bit of help from Mr Snoop I hope. Other than that, a bit of domestics and the long-awaited cake.
Hope your parcel gets delivered today, GF. Must be very frustrating. And happy hair cut, Bren.
Have a great day, everyone.

Thanks for the heads up Snoop
Are you having to hang around for that parcel gf? How frustrating if you are. Fingers crossed that today is the day.

Good morning again.
Thanks for tiptoeing around me. I think I mainly dozed but I really could have stayed in bed when Mr GF got up. Common sense prevailed, if I'd stayed and dozed until lunchtime I would be even less likely to sleep well tonight.
I'm now expecting two parcels today. The original one (Evri) due now between 11am and 1pm and a different one from Amazon ( sometime today). My new deep fitted brushed cotton sheets that I ordered last night are due on Monday. Somehow it feels so "naughty" to sit in bed with my phone and browse and buy from Amazon when I can't sleep. I must admit that it's far more pleasant than having to pay exorbitant parking and fight my way round the shops only to find nothing suitable. I have never been an ardent shopper. It was my elderly sister in law's hobby and I sometimes used to take her to cheer her up.
I'm trying to find something suitable for a 9 month old boy for Christmas and struggling. I far prefer children when they get old enough to have a conversation with. His three year old brother is easy. I got lucky last year with my choice so he'll get something similar.
Now it's got colder I've discovered the downside of Mr GF's birthday present, the heated throw. He gets so comfortable and warm under it, particularly if he's in his recliner, that he tends to drop to sleep.
I need to go do some shopping for my brother in law later. I think I'll take him a banana loaf as well (out of the freezer).
More coffee now.....
