Great to see you, Rary. You've been missed.
I've been out running some errands for my brother in law and then sorting some paperwork for him. I also called at the chemists as I'd had a text to say our prescriptions were ready.
Two of my Christmas puddings are now wrapped and boxed ready for their trip to Australia. It is expensive to send them, as I'd missed the last posting date for overland parcels by a big margin, so they're going airmail... estimated arrival 6 to 7 days. However, when I compare it to the price of a first class U.K. stamp it's probably the bargain of the year, particularly when it weighs nearly a kilo. I did save nearly £6 by buying my postage online. I printed my own postage and custom label too. Ready for sending tomorrow now. I'll either drop them at the local post office or in a parcel post box.

rary, great to see you and glad you are well.
Went shopping today trying to get inspiration for Christmas gifts for my daughter and granddaughter and came home empty handed! I have no idea!

Good evening all,. It was a lovely dry sunny day here. Just back from a visit to see Joan...She was a little more settled.
Rary, its lovely to see you back and know you were not absent due to ill health.
Jay, I know the feeling re gift shopping...I'm dreading it.
Shopping for the little one is easy, it's the teens and twenties that's harder...They just want gift vouchers but I want to have something wrapped under the tree. I also have a daughter in law birthday in middle of December...
I am sure it will all fall into place in the end.
GF, you sound so efficient and super organised..I could do with someone like you around.
Have a good evening all.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Bramble, if I was super organised the Christmas puds for my brother in Austalia would have been made, and sent, in early November, when they could have gone snail mail and my brother might have got four rather than two. However maybe I will live and learn ..... I'll update next year...... Don't hold your breath.....

Morning all.
According to the weather folk on one site, it's going to be bright, according to the other, it's going to be cloudy. According to the sky, it could go either way. Temperatures cooler than yesterday, which felt like May.
Domestics and paid work today. Very exciting. But needs must on both counts, so I'd better not be shirking. Especially as I won't get much done tomorrow, as the man with the digger is coming round to sort out our drive and do other land works after the floods. Plus we're having another big wagon load of gravel spread. By the time this lot goes down, a thousand tonnes of gravel will have been spread on our drive but you'd never know it.
Containergardener, hope you're doing OK.
Have a great day, everyone.

Good morning.
I was going to wash the bedding and attempt to dry it outdoors in the sunshine today, but the next door neighbour is having some work done and there seems to be cement dust and stone dust flying around (as well as the sound of grinders, etc). With a maximum temperature of 7°C today and negligable wind, I don't think there would have been much drying of the washing outdoors anyway.
We seem to be sliding back into the freezer again. 1°C forecast for tonight and -1°C for tomorrow night.Last edited by greenishfing; Today, 10:54 AM.
