  • Hi All,
To all Christians on the forum God Bless you all and as for remembering All Saints Day I now know that it is a deeply emotive day for those who are stronger Christians than myself. I do believe in God and say prayers I thank God for every day I exist and ask for his protection of my family and all believers no matter where they are on the planet.

I realised a few years ago that God exists after reading ( FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND ) what I thought originally was a psalm but learnt later it was just a poem. I looked at certain events that occurred through my life where I should definitely passed from this life to the next and the following lines struck home.

So I said to the Lord, “You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?”

    God bless you all.

    Geoff.

    • Evening all, hope all went well at the hospital Flo. I was at hospital today too for treatment and have been told unless I want to miss a treatment my next one will be Christmas Eve! Decided to go for it so Happy Christmas to me😄
Still struggling for gift ideas for daughter and granddaughter add to that my daughter and son in law are both 40 just after Christmas so it’s win win all the way!!
Happier news is we have our family visiting for a week soon so really looking forward to it. Granddaughter excited about visiting Scotland as we have snow…think she may be disappointed.
Anyone got their Christmas tree up yet? I’ve seen a few already seems to be getting earlier and earlier every year.
Anyhoo heading off to bed, catch you all tomorrow. x

      • Morning, it’s usually me that’s late on parade, is everyone having a long lie?
It’s a very icy -2° at the moment. Heating on and on the hunt for coffee.
See you all later, have a great day x

          • Morning all.

Yes, a bit late on parade but I was up earlier, promise. Though not as early as Mr Snoop as he brought me tea in bed.

Final morning of land works for us. Had a lovely lunch with the digger driver yesterday, another one on the cards today before he moves on to the neighbours.

The house is feeling very homely now. Mr Snoop wanted a break from the works, so even though there's still quite a lot to do, we've just moved furniture about and someone gave us an old-fashioned telly for watching DVDs on. For you, it'll seem very humdrum but for us, sitting on a sofa watching a film on telly is quite a novelty. Mr Snoop has even been talking about a Christmas tree despite the fact that he disapproves of them. We have some very small pines growing in daft places that would do, but I think Missy would just destroy it. Mind you, the smiles would like it. Anyway, something to think about.

            Have a great day, everyone.

              • Mornin n’alln’all
Calm and sunny here. Deffo a day for gardening.
I’ll need to start sorting out my craft materials soon too as they are spread throughout the house! Then, hopefully, next week we’ll be putting up the decorations.

Funnily Snoop, Hibou has never been tempted to climb any of our Xmas trees, but previous ones have. She tends to play hockey though with anything which has fallen off!
A previous cat used to love sitting under the tree just under a bell , so everytime she twitched an ear , the bell would tinkle. She’s long gone, but I still caringly hang a couple of bells on the lowest branches in her memory. ( what a softie )

Lottie!…a new man?…..how exciting for you xx

And on that merry thought, I best crack on with ‘stuff’

                Enjoy your day peeps.

                • Good morning all. Dull and breezy at 8 degs.
Lots of domestic jobs to do, rearranging presses and decluttering,
Now that all the fruit is out of the freezer to make some space, I need to find a space to store the jam,
Shopping around for a new microwave as well, the old one is gone past it's best.

Nicos, our cats used to love playing with the lowest hanging tree ornaments, we only ever had one cat who ran up the tree.
I dont know if you ever watch the cat videos on Facebook...some very mischievous cats on there.

Lottie, a new man in your life...its nice to have company.
                  Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                  • Good morning.

I was awake at 6.30am. At 7.30 am, turned the thermostat up and jumped back into bed. The next thing I knew it was nearly 10am. I never even heard the bin men. It's still 0°C and everything has got a white coat on. The sun is making very little difference, other than cheering me up.

I got emails and texts from Evri yesterday to tell me to expect two parcels between 2pm and 3 pm. I must have been thinking about the cold weather when I was shopping online as it looks as if some of the family are getting fleecy hoodies for Christmas, well, apart from one that I can't part with. Royal Mail are supposed to be delivering my new jacket today. They aren't as organised though. No time given....... yet. I've also got some click and collect bits to pick up as they have been delivered to a shop on the outskirts of town. My "Mrs Bucket" relative is always the hardest to buy for. And what do I buy a nine month old boy? I don't really have much interest in little children until they can talk and reason to some degree.

Hopefully my Christmas puddings should now be well on their way to Australia.

I did my grory hop yesterday and Aldi did not have my favourite blue cheese, that was supposed to arrive yesterday. I was miffed. Mr GF's comment of "It's only cheese" did not go down well.

I think another coffee is required now.

                      • I was expecting an Argos delivery on Tuesday night. At half eight there was a commotion further down the road, three fire engines appeared and the commotion turned out to be a house on fire and they closed the road just below our house. Himself saw the Argos van turn around outside our house and I got an e-mail to say they were unable to make my delivery and would contact me with another delivery slot. An hour later I had another e-mail to say they had cancelled the order! I was very annoyed, but have re-ordered. It turned out to be an arson attack Never a dull moment around here

                        • I have just had an update from Royal Mail. My parcel should arrive by 7.30pm. How helpful! I'm sure they could be more specific ...... if they cared about their customers.

Flo, Argos are another on my most disorganised companies list Great at accepting orders and then cancelling or delaying deliveries. It's as if they have no stock control. I try and avoid buying from them.

                          • Good evening, it has been feeling cold all day today, was at the church coffee morning as usual for a Thursday, we have Just installed new double glazed windows in the church hall and even though the temperature showed 16°c the hall still felt warm especially when it was-3° outside, once back home I went out to feed the birds, only to find a gray equipment grappled inside the cage I use to protect the bird feeder from them, when I went out to release it I thought it was going to kill its self the way it was going crazy, once it released it and checked everything out I'm sorry it didnt, it had chewed through two pieces of copper wire that I used to hold the cage closed as well as damaging the feeder, as the feeder was empty I went into the hut only to discover that a mouse or mice gave found their way into the hut and eaten through thebag of feeding, definitely not my best day, the feeding has now been put into another bag, though they will still be able to get through it and I have also sprayed the hut with some of my OHs washing liquid, I have read that vermin dont like strong smells so I am giving this a try though when we are out tomorrow I will buy some garlic and put that around the but, there cage is now closed with a heavier metal wire which hopefully will keep the squirrels out. Now off to make the tea so I wish you all a pleasant evening, and remember as most of you are of an age you need to keep warm, cuddling up to someone gives you extra warmth, as well as giving you the opportunity to smile🙂🙂🙂 Goodnight
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                            • Due to having to stay in all day for the ****** Royal Mail delivery, I devoted myself to domestic matters today. Lots of washing, drying, cleaning and vacuuming done. I have even put all clean, matching Winter brushed cotton bedding on the bed. However I am really not domestic goddess material .......or ever likely to be.

My jacket, an outdoor Oodie, 50% off sale, did arrive, vacuum packed, and therefore very creased. It is now hanging above a radiator and seems to be reviving slowly. I am now considering buying some fleece lined leggings next. I think they might be slightly more flattering than ancient, badly fitting, ski trousers in the cold weather.
